University student stabbed

BREAKING: Daniel Frost has been jailed for pushing a bin at police officers during disorder in Southampton on Tuesday.

District Judge Anthony Callaway sent the case to be sentenced at the city's crown court after telling the court the offences were "too serious" for the powers of the magistrates' court.

He has been remanded in custody until sentencing in Ju
I thought you wanted people who attacked police sent to jail?

Why would I have you on ignore? I've never noticed you before. I didn't reply because I didn't notice an alert among a lot of others I had.
Finding another article where they've referenced the victim by their surname doesn't somehow make it right. It's awful and lacks empathy.

Below from Wiley online library.....

"Using first names for victims and surnames for offenders is rooted in both journalism ethics and criminal justice practice. It is designed to balance the privacy and dignity of victims against the public accountability of the accused, while clearly distinguishing between the two parties.

Why Victims Get First Names
  • Dignity and Respect: Using a victim's first name feels more intimate, humanizing, and empathetic. It focuses on the person rather than the trauma.

  • Avoidance of Bias: Using only first names for offenders has been shown in studies to subtly reduce perceived blame and make them appear more credible or moral. Using the surname counters this, making it clear who is responsible for the crime".
Read this from our home secretary. She at no point refers to Henry by his surname and always refers to Digwa as Digwa not Vickrum. This is how it should be done.

You were pointing that a media website was doing it, while bringing up left wing which has no interest to me as it's politics waffle. My point was that all media usually do it that way so that article was nothing out of the ordinary at all.

Given what you've posted, I agree as thinking about it I've seen similar when police statements are made or when you see live statements given after court meetings by various people or whatever as they do use 1st names etc.

Youre beneath me man. I dont bother with the likes of you.
There are dozens of lefties on here who get nothing from me.
This could easily be you if you wish.
That makes me proud. You're so far down the rabbit hole there is no way back for people like you. Doubt we'll ever see eye to eye ....thankfully.

Enjoy your anger.

Somebody posted a link to the guardian story that's why I referenced it. Other than that I wouldn't have known they were calling him by his surname like he's the criminal. As for me saying it's a middle class left wing paper, well it is. I expectd better of it. I would expect it from a shitty scandal sheet rag but not that paper. Just my opinion mate.

James O'Brien with a characteristically moronic take on it, which ovetlooks that - at best - police gross negligence led to a dying young man being treated abominably.

He's spot on. The right wing want to assume are foreigners are bad and uk natives are not.

The truth is there are bad people from all backgrounds. The police failed in this case, but idiots like Laurence Fox are using it to push race based hate.

We need police to deal with people without prejudice, not cry about cases on one side of the fence only. The usual right wing suspects are silent when the races are the other way around.

It’s funny that, when police negligence, nay, an actual policeman murdered someone and police negligence should have stopped him, Farage said we shouldn’t rage at all.

So it’s almost like Farage has an agenda or something. I wonder what it could be?
