Water bottle for fans at World Cup

FIFA, in conjunction with the hotels, block booked loads of rooms to drive prices up when the fixtures were released.

They've released them now and fans who booked initially are seeing rooms going for 4-5 times less now, with no free cancellation option.
In fairness, whilst that is shit behaviour, anyone claiming they are surprised is very daft indeed.
That happens at all big events. Hotel prices miraculously increase when a big sporting event, music event, job fair is announced. Been happening for as long as I can remember and will carry on for as long as folk pay up.

The greed and avarice connected to this WC, after the flagrant sportswashing of the last two, is unforgivable.

Their excuse that its for safety reasons is complete 🐃💩, stopping people accessing water in the temperatures some of these games are being played is a recipe for disaster. God forbid anyone dies because of this decision but the potential for it to happen, or severe heat stroke, is clearly there. And for what? More $$$$ in the pockets of a bunch of charlatans.

There's a strong argument against drinking U.S. tap water as well but I'd take a chance as long as it wasn't black or on fire when it comes out of the faucet!

It shows it is just money grabbing when they decide to announce this at the last minute. If this had been announced when tickets were on sale, I bet loads of people would have looked at the stupid costs and said no. It looks like for people who bought tickets early, the costs are just ramping up and up.

A friend of mine loves England, has been to many international away games. Held his nose through Qatar and Russia, but has said he doesn't think he will watch much of this one. When fans like him are turning away, there is something very wrong.

Quite the opposite. The promise of possible free water but definitely able to bring own in was stated.

Then.....

I would love the FA to challenge FIFA in public and ask them to explain what has changed between deciding to offer free water and now this. What event or new evidence has surfaced to suggest it is not safe.

I have used that a couple of times in different circumstances. You explain to me what has changed. Then they can't and then you call bullshit and deliberately messing people around. Then they back down.

Except the FA will not do it. They have never challenged FIFA before and wonder why we are considered a push over. We need some people with a bit of fire in their bellies running English football. I would love it if someone came out and said enough is enough, we are going to be discussing with top European nations, Brazil and Argentina about breaking away. Even if those discussions are casual, FIFA will shit themselves and hopefully bring in leadership which is not a production line of corruption.

They have let them take water bottles in to games in the past but I am afraid a number of fans have been caught drinking out of them.
But they happy to sell you beer you drink in stands
Some guy in texas or something was complaining that theres not as many fans booking as they were told there would be. Almost like people are sick of being ripped off
My brother in law lives in Pennsylvania, drivable distance to the games in philly. Was gonna take the family. Prices are absolutely outrageous for shit seats. Factor in snacks, parking etc

just one utter grift. This tournament really is a shit show
Tbh I’m verging on the stage of not watching and previously I was someone who fell in love with football during France 98. Qatar was bad but I never thought I’d miss Blatter when Infantini is somehow worse. The World Cup should alternate between Western Europe and “other”. There’s not been a European proper World Cup since 2006. Disgusting the corruption and greed
