Coventry, Ipswich and Hull


The new SCR rules make it harder for promoted teams compared to PSR IMO. Under PSR you could over spend in season 1 and then cut back or sell in seasons 2 and 3 to get yourself under the £105M limit by the end of year 3.

Under SCR it is a 1 season calculation every season so you need to be under 85% of your revenue for all footballing costs, transfer fees, wages of both players and all coaching staff. If you finish say 4th bottom that's about £120M in TV money and maybe £25M for teams with smaller grounds than us. A £150M transfer spend would be circa £30M in year 1, maybe about £50M in wages. Doesn't leave that much wriggle room.
 
Given the massive managerial merry go round this summer I think it’ll be very open. Arsenal with stability will be strong. Liverpool’s new manager will be a bigger touchline aresehole than before. Not sure whether behEddie will start ?
 
Last year when we came up you could see that Wolves were on the verge of a relegation. You would have to then say us, Burnley, Leeds and probably Brentford and West Ham were the most likely to be dragged into a relegation scrap.

This year its difficult to see which existing premier league are struggling like Wolves were a year ago. The promoted 3 have basically got to hope that 1 or 2 have bad seasons. Its most likely that it will be us, Brighton, palace or Bournemouth struggling to juggle europe with the league but in all honesty I just cant see past the 3 up going straight back down. I think there could easily be a 10 point gap between 3rd and 4th bottom

I think Fulham and Palace are probably the most vulnerable knowing they have changed managers..

It actually could be the Mags. Poor/nonexistent scouting or recruiting team. Very poor form and a manager out of ideas. A want away squad and many ageing. Owners who are not interested and rarely involved. Angry fan base. Out of Europe. A precarious PSR/SCR position.

They do have saleable assets, but are the least likely to reinvest it well.

If they dont have a good start this coming season, the bubble could burst spectacularly.

The boss and I talked, but he didn't say anything about the money, we still need to sit down seriously. However, we do know some information. Coventry, as the winner of the Championship last season, plans to invest around 40 million euros in reinforcements, but they have had an expensive and strong team with which they attacked the Premier League for two years. Ipswich is reportedly preparing around 80 million.

Cov are doomed if they only spend that much.
