SOL expansion

Obviously not 'zero chance' as they said in the minutes they were considering it at a cost of £250m ...
It didn't say it was being considered. Knowing/making up the cost of something isn't considering it.

They'll know how much it might cost up sign Kylian Mbappé, for example. That doesn't mean we're considering signing him.

It might also mean they have no interest and are making up daft amounts to keep people off their backs.
The ambition we’re showing on the pitch makes me hopeful they also are off the pitch. We also need to ensure the SoL meets the needs of all match going fans - it’s not a new ground any more .

The club gaffers seem to think they can sell more premium tickets. I sit in premium and there have been few empty seats all season, but don't forget even if they don't sell them all, premium seats still account for around 45% of matchday revenue despite making up just 6% of total seats. Demand is only going to rise this coming season now we're in Europe.

They will keep improving and tweaking the offerings to attract more people. The CEO was saying in today's society people's spending habits have changed to prioritise exclusivity and luxury, even working class people.
He's right to a point, but I hope they do their market research before they commit as I have my doubts for how many people exist that are willing to spend these massive sums to watch Sunderland AFC. It's not an affluent city with many high paid jobs. Take Nissan- their blue collar factory is in Sunderland. The white collar technical office is in Canary Wharf.

Unless something drastic has happened since I last sat in a seminar about it, Sunderland has a massive shortage of graduate jobs and well paid jobs compared to other cities

While it's true we have shown ambition off the pitch, they've remained pretty consistent in their sustainability approach to spending.

Servicing a long term loan of £250m on a stadium extension doesn't sound like them.

No, they'd just say it's cost prohibitive - which they're not.

They literally said it was a constant conversation internally ...

That's exactly what they've said, they just put a silly figure on it.

If someone asked them, "why don't you sign Kylian Mbappé" and they said "nah, unlikely as it'll cost £200m", then we're not considering making an offer for him. At least not in the traditional sense.

"Hey lads, fancy spending £250m on the stadium?

"Nah, same conversation this time next week?"

"Aye"
5 concerts doing 2 nights each is 10 nights. Achievable IMO.

Throw in a wildcard like the football last week and a couple of other things and we’re there. Did we have rugby recently?
How many bands are playing stadium gigs outside of capital cities in the UK this year?
Did we have rugby recently?
Aye, a women's rugby group game with tickets selling for peanuts and loads of empty seats.

No reason they wouldn’t come north if the facilities were there, IMO

Aye but we’d have got a decent host fee

Shame about the appeal of the sport

Apologies for all the trees and water used to make this image:

Imagine if we extended the south stand as well!

Think people are living in dreamland if they think the owners are going to spend £250m on an expansion. Never in a million years is that going to happen. Maybe if we have 5-10yrs sustained in the prem but at the moment it is delusional
Its not delusional - the minutes of the meeting - ie the minutes written by the club itself - say they are considering it !!!

Was it not a record attendance at the time ? It wasn't just safc fans either. You can't slam safc for that.
