The police allowed themselves to be misled by not adhering to professional standards, exercising basic curiosity or even normal standards of human decency.

They do the assessment at the scene, it's in the document, that's before they carry out the 10 second triage. Simply no excuse for the sheer incompetence of the police who attended. It isn't racism imo, it's ineptitude and failing to prioritise the victim.
 
The usual suspects trying to play down the severity of this I see. He wasn't distressed FFS. I suppose they get something out of their attempts to annoy. Hard ons probably.
I've just seen the body cam footage and it's actually worse than I first thought it was. There's no attempt to check the lad they just stand looking at him while the killer points out all his own made up injuries.
A lot of time passes and apart from cuffing and shining a torch on Henry they do nothing else. Anyone with just the most basic first aid knowledge should have been able to see he was in a bad way. For a member of the emergency services to treat him the way they did is beyond disgusting and disgraceful.
A member of the public said Henry had been stabbed and Henry himself told them he'd been stabbed and couldn't breathe numerous times. But he was treat like shit and with total contempt by at least one of the police officers.
I'd like to think of this officer going to ER with some serious injuries and being told by doctors "I don't think you have any mate". Or phoning the fire brigade to tell them his house is on fire and getting back "I don't think it is mate". Obviously that won't happen but it's a nice thought.
He must lose his job he can't carry on as a PO now. Arrogance and a total lack of any humility has cost him his career. Good.

That's the bit I can't understand - the fact the lad is more or less limp. He's clearly presenting no danger so why the cuffs went on is just bizarre but for him to not then want to check him over properly? It was the female copper who phoned the ambulance and said his pupils aren't responding. There's no more than 60/80 seconds between them arriving on scene and then realising he really is hurt. It would not have saved him. But it would have given him some dignity in his final moments.

But from the off it's the lad and his brother have caused his death. The lies his brother told on the phone. Repeatedly asked if weapons were involved and he said 'no'. That has influenced the response.

Anger is justified as that was disgusting policing. Violence isn't. There is still an ongoing IOPC investigation in to this. It will be criminal if he is not sacked.

Listen marra, I don't have a great relationship with old bill.. I agree, I'll give it bad and good in all aspects of life, but to cuff that young lad with hands behind the back suggesting he is a liar about being stabbed.. Nah..

I just can't get my head around it. It's natural to make some assumptions, and the family were still lying to him, but he's in a position where he is responsible for the safety of everyone and he hasn't determined the lads safety. Simply dismissed him. Checking for injuries of the one who looks most incapacitated should have been his priority.

I have been on the wrong end of police brutality .. that another story..

But to cuff the lad whilst on his front and to just lift the t-shirt up a bit on his back, then basically determine that hes not been stabbed in that area of his body.. and then call him a liar was disgusting..
