Coventry, Ipswich and Hull

Pretty sure the only signings any of them have made up to now are Ipswich signing Akpom and Kipre who were on loan. I could easily be corrected though

Sad but it is true - precisely why we had to do exactly the same. Only Hume and Ballard have really featured from our promotion team that finished a distance above you 2 seasons ago, a couple of others have had bit part roles at best and that's it. Speaks volumes unfortunately but I do think you (and Hull and Ipswich) need to do the same. You'll know more than me - is there a realistic prospect of that level of investment?

Not convinced personally. There wasn't a huge amount of evidence of on-the-job learning (in terms of style of play) while they were in the PL last time and they may have less wiggle room on signings given a lot of those same players are still there, and most not good enough. A lot obviously depends on whatever transfer business they are capable of but hard to see anything other than relegation ahead. I'd give Coventry much better odds personally.

I meant in their transfers and approach
 
The World Cup doesn't help.

Takes away the bulk of the summer with teams preparing then playing and players hoping to make an impact and get to a big club to come in for them. Unlikley to commit to Hull for example until their agents know there;'s no chance of one of the top clubs coming in -money talks as usual. By that time the season is almost upon us and like the mags last go around the temptation to pay over the odds for players with little time to settle is overwhelming.

The team that becomes as defensively solid as we were will have the best chance of staying up.
 
Watched a podcast from lads who follow championship clubs and they put forward the theory that Hull will have the best chance to stay up. This was mainly due to them sneaking into the playoffs on the last day and not thinking that any of their players could make the step up. They think they will target a new starting 11 and the play off games against Millwall and boro where they had limited possession and sat deep is the way they will play next year. They thought that only Rudoni from Coventry and Philogene from Ipswich could possibly make the step up and they where not really convinced they could. They basically confirmed what the Coventry fans on here have been posting, that Coventry and Ipswich think they have capable players and do not need to adjust their playing style when the reality is the players are not good enough and both teams are to open.

Watched a few Championship games last season mainly the top of the table clashes and none of the players from any of the three promoted sides stood out as likely to step up, they are all going to need to make a lot of signings and adjust the playing style as Coventry and Ipswich are way to open and Premier league players will rip them apart. Sure a stat from last season was that promoted teams that focused on defence had the better survival rate, our performance this season seems to confirm this.

Think it's been shown (and my brother mentioned it to me before we signed Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo and Roefs) that those who have stayed up have done exactly that. They all need to sort their defences out and get some quality in there otherwise they'll be royally screwed

And leeds as well. When they adjusted their tactics to give them an extra player in defence they started to rise up the league
