Car mechanics SR3 area + advice needed

As title ,driving to work heard a bang from the front drivers side (2018 Nissan Quashqai)
Got out and a piece of my front spring was on the road a few yards back ,What's left is not sticking out and I drove 40 mph or less to work and it seems drivable,(not going to go near a motorway just round the doors till it's fixed)
No answer from my normal mechanic he goes away loads for weeks at a time and I can't wait with this so I'm after a reliable /non piss taking price mechanic around the SR3 area to sort it out .
And my question is do I have to get both done ? Is it a case of one gone the others not far behind ?it only has 28,000 miles on the clock and doesn't get hammered ,so I'm thinking just replace the one ?.
And lastly how much roughly should I be looking at ?

You should replace both, just cos one is broke doesn't mean the other will, no idea of the cost but Nistech are the local Nissan specialist and won't rip you off in my experience

Should always replace them in pairs.

Id get them both done, because the other one will not be too far behind imo, save two trips to the garage. Must be a issue with qasqais as me mar had to get the springs done twice in about 5-6 years and she doesn't do too many miles or drives hard. Think you'd be lucky to get a well known good garage in on short notice as they will probably be fully booked.

Can't help you with SR3 but I most recently used MTM Autos under the Alexandra Bridge for a water pump in my Golf and they were spot on.

When I had my first car I drove around on a snapped coil spring for a while, I didn't realise until it got pulled up on the MOT.

Are you not contradicting yourself there ? Replace both even though the other could be fine ?
Garages tend to just swap one out when it's a break . Sometimes the drop link gets damaged at same time . I'd say £50 for the spring plus an hour or so labour .
No idea where sr3 is .

Replace the one, it is recommended to replace in pairs but I wouldn't bother personally unless you are feeling flush.

also i wouldn't recommend driving it. It may drive fine but the snapped spring will no longer be sitting in its stop cup correctly and can slide past the shock absorber now and worst case puncture the tyre, whilst moving. Seen it happen many times.
I'm nee mechanic like but alignment for a spring? Thought that was just after track rods etc
Aye its a load of shite, it will not need wheel alignment for changing a coil spring.

Not just me saying it, see the bottom question

Are you both confusing tracking with wheel alignment?

However just cos one spring has snapped doesn’t mean the other will, it could out last the car, or it could snap tomorrow. Lots of parts on cars are replaced that are perfectly usable but they are still changed as they should be (I’m thinking low mileage cars and air filters, some are as clean as the one being installed but they still get swapped)

They would do, thats how they make money, I've repaired cars personaly all my life, trust me. its a money grabber.

Changing one is fine, if youre flush and want a comfort blanket do the two. Wheel alignment needs adjusting when wishbones or tie rods/track rod ends are changed. A spring being replced on an original shocker shouldn't change the alignment.

No expert but spring shouldn't snap after only 28,000 miles so I'd just replace one. Fair enough if it was a lot higher mileage for wear and tear reasons.
