SOL expansion

Before Sunday I’d agree, after getting Europe the amount of people who will want to be involved with SAFC will have went up massively.
I know at least ten just in my small circle that want to take kids and partners etc. I think people still underestimate our fanbase and the feel good factor around atm. My cousin has been trying to get him and his two kids season tickets together this season and last and still hasn’t managed. I’d rather have the off chance we may have empty seats a few years down the line than be locking kids and families out.

Got my call for a season ticket on Monday….need to wait a couple more days until I can afford it without being financially suicidal with it having to be bought outright.

Praying I can still get one in a day or two 🙏
I bought 2 on the 21st of April put it on my credit card and I've got another 3 days before they take the payment. A card can give you an extra 6-8 weeks before payment

The original plan was to extend the South stand increasing the capacity to 55,000, then when we make the champions league, extend the East stand taking capacity upto 63,000

Not sure how increasing the south stand & south west corner gets us an additional, roughly 6-7k seats and then the east stand plus two corners is only 8k?

When we increased the capacity last time giving us the north west corner upper and north upper that was 6-7k seats.

I personally believe that if/when we expand next it should be the north east corner and the east stand which has surely got to me more than only 8k seats and more likely to be around 10k?

5300 I believe it is for South stand expansion

having
yes thats what Im saying - the SOL capicty was 42k in 1997

Having used ChatGPT

It estimates that,

Upper SectionApproximate Capacity
Upper West7,000 - 8,000
Upper North5,500 - 6,500
Upper North-West Corner1,000 - 1,500

With that being the case and I understand that corporate decisions come into it. The club might want more boxes, more corporate seats which would reduce the capacity

However my question is,

Would it be more beneficial along the side rather than behind the goal which would give us upto an additional 1,500 seats?

Behind the goal - 55,500 - 57,000
Down the side - 57,000 - 58,500

And could we fill either?

And the majority of seats could be used for concerts.

Whereas if it was behind the goal this may not be possible.

As I'm old I remember the initial roll out of the stadium, that was the original plan, when the North Stand was extended the capacity went from 42,000, to 48,000 so I'm guessing that's where the initial seating forecast comes for the South Stand. Things may well change as the club is clearly looking to exploit as much corporate revenue as possible

I agree it makes more sense to build a second tier on the East Stand, then there's no impact to Sheepfolds etc.

It is but thats reduced from 7300 (from original bobs plans)as they want more corporate areas. The lower bowl holds 35000 ish so if you take our practical capacity as 48300 that gives a 13500 capacity for the premier and north stand upper.
when the north stand was extended the capacity went from 42000 ish to 48300 ish ( i know the north stand was shorter coz of the road/ vents and the shoehorned some extra seats in east stand at the back)

So that practically means the north stand added roughly 6300 seats and depending on the correct capacity of the lower bowl.

The premier concourse holds around 5500 ish personally i think the east stand extension with the north and south east corners added will give you a maximum (they will probably reduce capacity for corporate) of around 10500 giving us a max capacity of 61500. Who the hell knows as they could do nowt and increase prices or go mad and make the east stand massive and a facility to compete at the level of spurs opulence .

I guess it will depend on the ambition of the club owners but if they are happy with guaranteeing a consolidated top ten finnish year on year it would make commercial sense to leave well alone and increase prices as much as they can and perhaps tinker with the ground facilities a tad .But hawking up prices will have a natural ceiling so then what do they do?
Ground expansion makes sense in many ways but im just not sure they will do it anytime soon or at sufficient quality to make much of difference ....The owners are not the type to put themselves into massive long term debt (even if it is over years ans serviceable)and some of the prices going round on tinternet I hope are bollocks as if the are true there is no way our owners are going to spend that and i agree with them TBH !

Really could be

We aren’t building what Bob Murray planned
I get that but in theory it should still be easier. Forest and Leeds are both adding 20000ish for about 150m and would think they are both harder to do
Could cost the mags nearly double that to add 7,000 seats. Wouldn't advise any of them to be holding their breath for it to happen though.
That’s to basically regen the whole ground If they stay as well though. Again not sure if it will happen like
