I hadn't thought about the % of matches being played in each country. From a quick search it seems like 13 each for Mexico and Canada and then 78 for USA.

I do genuinely wonder how they’re going to fill the seats up until the last 16. Some of the stadiums are massive and the Yanks don’t care enough (and rightly so) to pay 4 figures for a group stage game.
I would love it if the stadiums were half empty. Bet they start doing two for $100 the day before games and end up pissing off the people who’ve actually bought full price tickets.

This is a big thing in wrestling in the US. On the day you can usually get tickets far cheaper as it's more important to fill the place than make an extra few quid.
Holding your nerve isn't really an option if you've already spent a fortune coming from abroad specifically for that game though.

Dont think the stir from the 2015 fiasco has completely disappeared. Are the US courts now going after them for inflating ticket prices and other dodgy practices.
These mega tournaments might be good for fans, but the money involved certainly encourages corruption and dodgy practices, look no further than Russia 2018, and Qatar 2022

I do feel oversaturation is a problem in general. It's too many matches to really follow them all properly imo
32 is probably a good number for a world cup and avoids having to do the "3rd best place" thing which I don't like
