Cirkin goodbye message

Absolutely fearless in the air in both boxes, to his cost when he scored at Millwall. Cirkin gave us good balance on the left, and before Reinildo came along we never properly replaced him when he was out.

Those two late goals at West Brom as well, some player.

We’ve been good for Cirkin and he was a big player for us. Hopefully he’ll get a move that suits him and we will recruit a really good left back, not a Masuaka, who will threaten Reinildo for his place and add strength at the back.

Fantastic farewell story, gave his all and will be remembered for his passion and love of the club. I hope he has many more successful years no matter where he goes and will always will be welcomed back at Sunderland. Players come and players go but to be remembered with affection is all you can hope for.

Good player and fantastic servant. Unfortunately injury prone. Last season when Reinildo was out for a period was his chance to step in a make his mark, unfortunately he got injured at the same time and couldn’t be relied upon.

I always thought it was very odd.

I'd walk over broken glass to play. A wrist / arm / hand injury could be strapped up / lightweight cast fitted or whatever to get you on the pitch. If I injured it again so what, it's not a career threatening injury as I don't play in goal.
Bit unfair there Keith . Apparently he has either just had or is due to have surgery to take the rods and pins out . So must have been pretty bad . Didn't he also have other problems including hamstrings ? Bit of a sicknote poor lad.
Good luck to him would have been a decent squad player , except for his fitness issues
Time to move on .

Good luck to the lad. Done a tremendous job for the club when fit. Another one who I'm sad to see go, but arguably not quite at the level we're aspiring to reach.

Fave memory (hopefully someone has it recorded) is the Cov play off game I think, just before Ballards header he can be seen on the touch line with Regis.......10 seconds later he's in the South Stand

Lovely statement but it’s very hard to assess the authenticity of statements these days, especially when we don’t know the ins and outs of the negotiations and he might have been dying to leave, so not gonna get all sycophantic about it. He was a good player for us while he was here, so thanks to him for that and good luck in the future.
