Kondogbia

I know we like to be positive about all new signings but it does concern me a touch how desperate marseille fans are for him to leave. And how many people say how much hes regressed over the last couple of years.

He is on a large wage for them so they'll be very happy to get rid to free up the salary, doesn't mean he's terrible

Agree though, the big concern is whether he is still physically up to it

We can only hope Meissa Ndiaye wouldn't do us over on this one and spoil the relationship for any future signings

Nah I’ve read on here he’s not good enough.
Some like me suggest caution given his injury woes, others mention his age
Combine age and injury and isnt it reasonable that there may be apprehension. Don’t believe anyone doubts his ability
Many on here are up in arms when we sign players who have injury issues
Nothing wrong with questioning decisions unless you are from North Korea

That's quite a selection of good clubs all told.

With that amount of experience playing in Europe he seems a good fit for the Europa League in particular when we need to rest players.
He's had a very good career and will bring good experience. He's with SportCover so I assume we've done due diligence on his personality

Only risk for me is his fitness and physicality. But if his job is to relieve the pressure on Xhaka, then he won't need to be playing week in week out

I havent knowingly watched him play so cant comment from a position of knowledge. But those who have watched him are all consistent in saying, that at the wages quoted, this wouldnt be a good signing.

However, I do think the recruitment team after last year have earnt our trust.
I think most realised the potential he had. It’d just been a rough couple of years personally for the lad
Yeah i think everyone could see that and acknowledged getting away from Amsterdam would be in his best interests.

188 games at the top end of La Liga.

113 games at the top end of Ligue 1.

34 games in the Champions League and 15 games in the Europa League.

He's a free transfer who won't expect to be playing every week and will offer experienced cover.

As he's with Sport Cover, an agency who represents a few of our players as well as our manager, I suspect we'll have the detail on fitness, attitude etc.

Marseille fans are notorious for hating everyone pretty much all of the time.

Even despite his lack of games this season, he's in the 93rd percentile for possession won and 82nd percentile for defensive actions, in Ligue 1 this season based on the minutes he has played.

There's no real downside to this IMO.
