To be fair, you could say the current ownership brought our identity back. Before they took over we were just a shell of a club, the League one days, even the dregs of our previous Prem stint if you took the red and white stripes away you wouldnt know its Sunderland AFC, the atmosphere was bad, the players didnt care, the ownerships were either asset stripping or just happy to tread water and our heritage was being losers.
All the points made in are valid, i just think they're problems with wider football in general and the way the modern game is evolving where it is what made it so special in the first place. Hopefully the club can continue to straddle the line between being in touch with the fans and also maximising income as it will be imparative to any future success.
