Steve Howey

I know his Mam and Dad, very believable of Yvonne. Growler (Norman) is a good bloke too.
I grew up on TC, lived on the same street and delivered the papers.

'Growler' is well named. Don't think in 5yrs delivering the papers I ever saw him crack a smile when he came into the shop or saw him walking around. Always absolutely dour as fuck, made SAF look happy go lucky.

The mam was nice though, for some reason I'm thinking she was a dinner lady at the primary school?

I didn't really know Lee as he was a bit older but my cousin and a few mates went to St Aidens with Steve. He was very much like his da, never really had much to do with anyone, kept his own counsel.

If he hadn't been a footballer would probably have been a school shooter type loner! 🤣
John Humble ?
Ford Estater wasn't he.

Obviously Lee is. Sunderland lad, played for us. Dad a huge Sunderland fan. Steve probably was as a boy but signed for then (after an unsuccessful trial at Sunderland iirc).

I'm sure I've heard Steve say he was a Sunderland fan on sky during his Man City days though.
Steven was offered terms from Sunderland. Mags offered him better terms . Signed for mags . Lawrie Mackmeney stood on stage at St aidens and called him out over it . Big Lawrie was a Twat

Steve Howey definitely corrected a presenter on Sky around 10 years ago now when he got called a Newcastle fan, telling them he’s not he is a Sunderland fan. I was watching at the time and was surprised because while I knew he already was, I didn’t think he’d risk the wrath of the mags by saying it publicly.

Lee is a Sunderland fan. I worked on his old house down Castle Eden well after his playing days where he told me he's Sunderland.

He's also corrected a reporter live on Talksport when he was introduced as a Newcastle fan.
I remember him being interviewed after a game. The interviewer said about him playing for his hometown club. He never corrected them then.

Sorry, I meant to say Steve. Probably had the Lee song in my head when I was typing.

Surely the same would apply to Lee Clark for us!

He was on talksport and confirmed he was a a Sunderland fan first and foremost but wanted the mags to do well, which is understandable considering he played for them.
He's right actually.
They went toe to toe first half and were outclassed 2nd half by a class team.
It's not a misrepresentation like as the score is what it is after 180 mins.

Take the blinkers off.
They're still convinced that the ref ruined their chances and had it not been for the ref they'd have progressed.

Still a ****.

On Talkshite now, with Mucky Gray.

‘The Barcelona score was misrepresented a bit, Newcastle matched Barca bar a spell of the game’

Is he off his nut?
1st game they matched them, 1st half of second game they matched them, why would he be off his nut?
