Ghisolfi talk.

There’s a few of them on this thread!
I like him and want him to stay but he is young unpolished and i will be surprised if he goes for 20 million even in todays market..I live in a bungalow so im not sure what that ignorant rude poster above is on about!...its just an opinion !and in truth i think we will find out soon who is right!Oh and im happy to be proved wrong as thats more money for the club but if im right i wont be calling folk stupid just coz they disagree with me!

If Patterson is back as second choice that that's regression. The lad is at his level in the Championship. I remember people on here slating his distribution and I defended him. They were right. His kicking is woeful. He also seemed more concerned in transforming into the Hulk at one stage which seemed odd as goalkeepers surely should be agile? Ghisolfi needs a better solution than keeping Patterson for Europe. How about getting Barry Bannan for a season? :p
I agree, a new back-up is the best option. Would a Championship club take Ellborg on loan and have him as their first choice ? Not sure they would. I'm not saying he won't be good one day, but still a bit green for me.

We need to sell players for profit though in order to fund new signings. We can't hold onto everyone and just loan them out , whilst meeting our PSR commitments. It's the nature of football these days.
Yeah if we get an offer of £10m+ I think he’ll be sold

Patto is getting nowhere near this squad like.

First of all, we will most likely just name Elborg and a youngster in a different position as homegrown. We don't need a squad of 25 anyway.

But even if we did, why wouldn't we just use Simon Moore as back up keeper in Europe? Unlikely to be needed anyway.

Keeping a saleable asset to be a back up for one cup competition is not smart business.

Is it not just home grown?

Its 8 home grown, 4 of whom are your own youth team
It works for us but isn't great for him.

It is if he plays in some of them. Depends on who we are playing i guess.

That wouldnt affect the own academy home grown. If its a third choice though we could name joe Cowan if hes not going out on loan and achieve the same thing if we have two other keepers named.

We’re going to struggle to find 4 players that have come through the youth team, unless they’re considering retaining Patto and giving Neil a new contract
