Europa league - impact on city

extra games = greater intake for pubs.. maybe some extra traffic for hotels, shops, restaurants etc. Taxis, Uber.. it can only be good. Hopefully big attendances/sell-outs and it’ll be like a play-off home leg vibe at least four extra times for the city and of course thousands of units sold for Hays Travel for aways, with taxis shuttling back and forward to airport.. problies have a spike in shirt sales etc.

How much will a EL campaign bring into the city coffers

Look north often rambled on about the economic impact of European football on Newcastle and of course the wider region and the good PR it develops

Seen nowt about same impact on Sunderland
Will nexus be planning metro maintenance on EL nights?
Have they even done a piece on our unprecedented qualification for the Europa League yet?

No
They’re still doing puff pieces on mags Carabao cup win

I would just like some form of sensible response to my complaints about the editorial integrity
I would of thought a feature on this season would of been a quick cheap filler for them
But no more stories about dumping rubbish in Cumbria, inspiring the next generation or raising awareness about something no one is interested in or the 67th anniversary of some travel related thing
The programme and itv is going same way is so undynamic
I used to think itv did some slight one tree stories but not so sure
Headlines must be from some random story generator
About 5 mins is filled with a national story with a tenuous local link
5 minutes about the weather
The rest 🤷‍♀️

Would that be a Cotes du Rhone Monsieur, or a Rioja Senor?

They might add Plastic Bertrand, Nena and Vanessa Paradis to their karaoke playlist
A lightly chilled Chilled Chablis de Blandford and a pint of fosters for our lass
Olive and patatas bravas tapas
When hoummus reaches the blandford we have arrived
Touched on this on Monday. Hoping that the council push tourism and promote Sunderland as a city and make it inviting for foreign guests
Hotel offers for 2 night stays for a start
4 extra games which will sell out could be massive for the city in restaurants and bars
Massive opportunity for council, local BID, local businesses and tourism industry to pull together and run a good campaign
Promotions etc bit like restaurant week
Publish literature and leaflets on restaurants, cafes, pubs etc places to visit
You know the sort of thing tourist information or bodies used to do before they were scrapped
Reform are ideal with their open minded attitude to Europe!

It's quite simple.

Away fans will stay in the city if there is affordable availability, if not they'll stay in the next available city with easy access - Newcastle.

You'll have away fans take over Keel Square from Midday, they may stay in Newcastle but they won't drink there on the day of the game. Similar to when away fans visit Dortmund in Europe and stay in Dusseldorf. Most stay in Dusseldorf due to availability and easy access for Dortmund, but on the day, everyone will be in Dortmund.

Hotels in Sunderland absolutely fleece customers on our match days like.
