League Cup

It'll be usual with the LC

Awful attendances in first few rounds and if we managed to get to Wembley everyone will suddenly want to go
We won't be playing anybody until the 3rd round at the back end of September after a European game. Last season we were out by then, just like Man Utd who tbf won't be playing Grimsby in August this time, although our neighbours up and down the road will be playing in an earlier round.

Lets hope for a good draw

Id take winning a cup over a few games in Europe
Aye. I’m just SO over European Football already.
It’s not the sides we put out in cup games more the half hearted way we play the matches. The team at home to Huddersfield was more than strong enough to have won that game easily.
If Oxford had been even a relegation avoiding contender they’d have beaten us.

If I had the choice of us being in The Europa Conference final or the League Cup final I would choose the latter. Not least because I would be at Wembley with 35000 Sunderland fans instead of watching a European final on the tv.

However, the Europa League is a more prestigious competition with a Champions League spot up for grabs. So I suppose I would put that above the League Cup.
