I saw this internet page on Twitter. It lets you put a pin on a map and it calculates the population within a specified radius. I put in our stadium and the Mags' ground, and here are the results below.
Have a look here. There may be small differences depending on exactly where you place your pin position; a little bit towards the sea for us will lose a few, and placing the pin a little towards Newcastle city centre will increase theirs a bit.
We all know this of course, but there is significant difference in the catchment areas of the 2 teams. I've been doing my bit for 70 years, as I was born and raised within 5km of St. James'.
