What to do with Mayenda?

I genuinely have no idea.

I though he was good in that opening game against west ham. Then for whatever reason didn't get much game time after. There are times he has come on and been poor but times when he is driven us up the pitch with the deeper runs he can do.

He has been poor when he started, because he is being asked to lead the line and he is neither a bruiser or off the shoulder runner. He seems to prefer just behind the striker. His best games running between the channels and causing havoc or playing the striker though with a deeper ball.

I would have given him more of a chance personally but I dont get to see him in training all day.

I think he could genuinely play well behind brobbey, but appreciate the days of two strikers are gone for now.

If all thats true, and I personally think it is, then Mayenda needs to get better at covering runs and tracking back as his best position is going to be what Talbi is doing. Or maybe even Diarra. Rather than a second striker which is rare in the modern game.

Let’s loan him to that club we signed Roefs from and didn’t loan Seelt too, then they are happy with us again and we can sign their best player

What we gonna do with this lad. Totally understand that he wants more time and probably needs to move on but it’s such a shame. Also who comes in to replace him?

If we can sell some fringe players for a profit and keep first teamers like Roefs & Sadiki, then players like Mayenda seem like obvious candidates. I would back Ghisolfi to bring in a better striker as well, depending how much money we are able to allocate to transfers & wages. Another interesting window ahead, for sure.

I agree I think the fringe will move but it’s a shame with Mayenda. Really is.

Ideally we keep him and he goes out on loan to gain that first team experience at a high level that we can’t offer him right now. The shame will be if the lad turns into the player we all think he will and someone else reaps that. It’s football I guess. Seems a good lad and offered a lot behind the scenes and is still developing, so for me keep.

It is, but the club have proven that there is no room for sentiment. He played a huge part getting us back in the PL with his goals at Coventry and Wembley. But he's had a few chances this season and he didn't really make the most of them for me. He potentially could become a very good player, but at the minute, he's not a lone striker. We will be playing 1 striker for 90%+ of our minutes - so I don't really see how he fits into the team. We can probably pick up someone with better attributes , who can make a bigger impact in games.

True, especially with the 70% of turnover rules for clubs in Europe. I haven't really read the accounts to see how much breathing space we have for transfers and wages. Or how much there may be a need to cash in on one of our better players for a tidy profit. I trust the club though, so let's wait and see how the window goes.

Think we should loan him out, however I also think we will need revenue for transfer so suspect he will be gone pretty quickly. He hasn't and won't really get a chance here.

With the greatest of respect I just don't see him getter better to the point he'd improve us. Brobbey is clearly first choice now and I feel more confident Isidor can come on as a sub and bag a goal because he's faster and the better finisher.

Clear he’s fallen out of favour which is a shame. Still think he’s a real talent. With the added games next season I’d rather we hold onto him but if the recruitment team think we can do better then I trust in them.

Its ok everyone saying loan players out but we struggled to loan many for example Ba and are stuck with them. How many of our current players on loan will be signed permanently? The likes of Rusyn, Seelt, Browne etc. We have a lot of dead wood to shift

Bloody hell I forgot about Rusyn.

And that carthorse striker, Luis Semedo - both awful.

I can’t see why. The lad had a half decent season in the Championship after a poor loan at Hibs. He has shown nothing in the Premier League to deserve starts. Hardly had a kick in the first few games until Wilson pushed him out.

I hope he does well but I doubt it will be in the Premier League.

He’s still a kid. Bags of ability and next season could be his year.

If we didn’t think he’s going to get mick first team action maybe look at a good loan. Hearts would be a good move and they need a striker. He’d tear it up in the SPL and gain European experience.

Bit harsh but not sure if I disagree 😂
