Lap Of Appreciation

I suppose they had all of their press obligations to fulfil before they could come back out. But yes, it was too long & some people had started to leave.
I would imagine there was some sort of celebration between just the team and staff in the changing room as well, the fact Kyril came out onto the pitch with a beer would lean to that argument.

As massive as the achievement was, its not like a trophy presentation that is organised, like the walk up the Wembley steps where everybody knew where they had to be and at what time because of TV schedules.

I did leave before the lap started, as it was my round and wanted to get the beers in at Sheepfolds before it got rammed.

As a fat bastard, I was squashed in my seat in the concourse in what felt like 3000 degree heat, just had my last line of cocaine after avery nervous 90 minutes . . . and I still managed to wait.

I lost patience and left the south stand just as they finally started walking round . Does that make me an early leaver ?
The CCTV is really good now and can track the crowd the same way the cameras track the players. They know how many times you went for a piss and if you left before 6:50pm on Sunday. You will be getting an email banning you from away games in the Europa League.

It was very disorganised to be fair. Herding cats comes to mind. Clearly the club had not planned it fully or they just could not get that many people organised. I was slightly frustrated by it but in the great scheme of things, fuck it we are in Europe!!!!!

Personally I thought it was great that they had their family and friends with them. We have brought nearly a whole team over to Sunderland this season and this is their support group, they have played their part to make this all happen, so Kudos and thanks

Yeah i think the tannoy said 2- 3 times " and now the olayers will start their lap of appreciation" but the crowd on the pitch seemed preoccupied with their own celebratory groups. Only Dan Ballard seemed to take the cue and moved off a bit but as no one followed he drifted back.
I wasnt that bothered for me , the immediate celebration after the whistle was good enough for me but i was willing to stay and thank the players and show we're all a family . They just took too long and seemed wrapped up in their own celebrations, which was fine , whatever made them happy .

They had clearly planned a lot of it with the speeches/video/graphics etc but there were so many of them they couldn’t be corralled. Needed someone to take the lead.

All good practice for when we qualify for the CL next year anyway.

I get it and i did comment at the time that I can barely see any players but its great to see the buy into the club not just by the players but the families and friends.
