Ha ha absolutely rinsed 😂

A valiant attempt by Milhouse to explain away:
Defeats home and away.
Finishing 5 places lower.
Failing to get into Europe.

The Mags have clearly regressed, and no amount of whining about fixture congestion is going to wash.

Take the two derby games on their own. Forget about injuries and European fixtures and cup fixtures. You can throw away everything else - these were the games that both teams had to be up for, regardless. And the Mags were shit BOTH times.

Fair play to the others on that clip for pointing out that the Mags are an established Premier League team and should be equipped for a European schedule. Did they finish 12th in other season they were in Europe? Nope - in 23/24 they finished 7th, despite a CL campaign.

We also had injuries and AFCON to cope with. Also, their league record AFTER being kicked out of Europe was utter chod.

Amazing levels of delusion from the speccy little pubesniffer.

You watch their mental gymnastics next season over sustainability rules. These rules have been totally unfair for a club like Newcastle. They should be allowed to spend what they wanna spend.

If Sunderland have a dip in form next season, or suffer a fear of relegation because of financial constraints (lack of recruitment), it'll be all too funny and suddenly 'rules are rules'.

I think a section of every fanbase is deluded, but the way they are firing out any excuse possible is great. They are genuinely living in a bubble.

If we were being fair, any combined 11 must have Roefs, Alderete, Mukiele, Xhaka, Le Fee and Brobbey in it. Thats 6 out of 11 spaces guaranteed. you can argue about tonali/bruno in cm ahead of xhaka due to age etc, but in terms of right now, xhaka is in that lineup. You then have shouts for reinildo v hall (do you prefer an attacking fullback or a more defensive one, granted reinildo does it all but his true strength is defensively. both teams RW is a weak point so thats a debate. Id prefer Reinildo right now, but Hall will be top class long term. We have Sadiki who would be unfortunate to miss out but the midfield 2 would have to be out of xhaka/guimares/tonali, Ballard also misses out to Thiaw.

LW would have to give it to Gordon, as much as i cant stand him, theres a reason hes sought after by top clubs and a mainstay in the England setup.

Therefore, man for man, we have to be seen as the better team.

Im sure many fans will disagree on some of the above, but i think its fair and balanced.

Hall isn't even getting ahead of Burn, nevermind Reinildo.

Pretty much our whole first team was out for the derby at their place

I hate it when Sunderland fans say the Mags were shit in both derbies, as if we, as the opposition played no part. It discredits how we performed. In the game at their place Le Bris changed it at half time, tactically, and skooled the chubby cuboid for example. Also, let's not overlook the fact that we had key players missing too, not just them.

The whole make up of that podcast is that they all have pretty daft opinions about their own teams and sometimes beyond. It’s what gets viewers.

Agree. Lazy phrase on my part. We were great, i.e., better.

All he had to say is "yeah, this season Sunderland have been the better side" but he couldn't stop digging 😂

Always love the excuses about the amount of games as well. Some teams can cope with it, some can't. Arsenal, Man City, Villa, Liverpool all managed a Champions League finish alongside with a season in Europe.

Spurs, Palace, and Forest struggled. Those three had more going on than a few more games.

The mags will make eny excuse going to pretend they're at the level of the first four clubs and not the latter three.

I’m already seeing this more & more in the last few days. “We’ll see next season, Sunderlands are going to struggle”.

Yet another one to add to the bingo card of “you’re going down with the worst points ever” “you’re not going to win a match” “six easy points” “you haven’t played anyone yet” “you couldn’t even score past us” “the xG league”

We could win the league next year & there’ll be some narrative as to why we’re shite & they’re class.

Typical mag whataboutry.

Instead of just taking their medicine, the ingrained Jawdee exceptionalism means that they are completely incapable of accepting they've been well and truly bested.

Not only that but by the team they have spent the decades, since SJH marketing ploy of inventing the "Jawdee Nashun", deriding, denigrating and generally being disparaging about. And that also includes the club itself, the people and the city too.

They're so indoctrinated by it, including the msm who promote and push their đŸƒđŸ’©, that the majority of them don't know how to cope. Literally does not compute in their tiny minds.
