Completely agree with you. Once we'd won the second derby and secured safety Le Bris could afford to take a few more risks with how the team played and it showed. We carried much more of an attacking threat towards the end of the season and he'll have learnt a lot about his squad, and no doubt it'll help build a clearer picture of the kind of players needed in the summer.
Can't play the same way every time though. There will always be games where the right play is to defend and counter, but we need to be able to be the aggressor when it's called for.

Here’s a suggestion
Many have said ( rightly or wrongly ) that Ballard is best CB in premier league and could replace eg an ageing VvD or Maguire
If 50m is what we could get why not flog him , use 20m on Gerty and the rest on team strengthening with home grown
We haven’t missed a beat defensively while DB has been out despite playing heavyweights like United and Chelsea, if anything we have looked better
Gerty is a top RB and can play CB and DM
We have Nordi as CB and RB and when really stuck we can slot in Hume.
DB isnt in the category of sick note yet but he does miss a few through injury

I don't think it's about money, there's got to be something in the Liverpool link for 1 or both parties to agree to it in January. No one knows if the scousers are signing him as I think slot could be away
