RW Essen 1-0 up from the first leg. Sunderland is twinned with Essen isn't it? Red and white too hence the name. Haway the German lads.

A lot of big German teams have gone to shit in recent years

Got family from Krefeld so used to follow Bayer Uerdingen when i was a kid.

Beat Bayern in the cup final and then Bayer decided to pump all their cash into Leverkusen and then they plummeted

I didnt know that about 1860 munich. Always wanted to go to their ground. Looks proper old school. Such a shame if they do go bust.

Live 5 minutes aways from Uerdingen's ground.
It's been a disaster since Bayer pulled the money out

I was at Nuremberg in March for a game which was absolutely class. Had a real working class proper club feel about it to me.

They absolutely hate Greuther Furth

Essen play in Red and white and is twinned with Sunderland

Big Essen fan tonight 🤣

They've actually had a lot more support of late. They designated a few games each year as completely free and sold the stadium out. The other games ended up being popular too. Whether they'll keep any of the crowds remains to be seen.
 
Some really small club has just gone up to the top flight too for the first time.
And Wolfsburg have been relegated from the top flight yesterday
