I still dont think we will both have distinct pink away kits but we wait and see ! i dont remember us having so many black away kits?and im guessing we are due an 1st choice away yellow kit?

definitely agree. Like it was made of horsehair, dipped in old vaux slops then rolled in shotblast grit. Lovely looking shirt, joggers nipple when you wore it for more than 50 paces though

I remember it being sung at games for years before that. Joe Hart asked how long ‘Can’t help falling in love with you…’ has been associated with SAFC on last night’s Monday Night Club on 5 Live because he said he couldn’t remember it from games he’d played at the Stadium of Light. Regrettably, Paddy of Roker Report suggested it was a recent thing. Not meaning to hang Paddy out to dry as he could have been answering the question, ‘How long has this been part of what the club promotes on matchdays’, I guess - but I think this was just another example of KLD catching up on where supporters had been for years anyway?

I had a subscription to ‘Wise Men Say’ but can’t remember how long it is since that ended. Certainly, I bought WMS long before ALS came on the scene.

Rob Mason in one of this seasons or last seasons programmes said it was sung at an away game just after Elvis died(which was 1977).
Can’t remember what game it was off the top of my head.
I was only young in the 1980’s so cant really remember it being sung as much as it is now but that might be just my memory. Does anyone know if we sang it as much in the late 80’s and 90s?

Just found the programme( it was the opening game against West Ham)
Here is what it said

It is 48 years today since Elvis Presley passed away. Four days later Sunderland fans sang ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love With You’ for the first time in the opening match of the season at Hull City. The song took of big style in the next away game at Sheffield United and has since become an anthem that no doubt will be sung with great volume this afternoon
