Luke O'Nien

Just another massive bonus in the squad. I assumed he would be surplus to requirements but the people in charge obviously know what they are doing!
Incredible career he has had. He’ll definitely have a lucrative career on the business motivational speech circuit if he wants. He embodies everything those people (mainly bullshitters) aspire to.

At away matches especially, when warming up 09 & GX are always have a conversation - often for a few minutes.
The fact that GX rates his opinion (Leeds away MoM presentation on Sky,) tells you everything 👏👏

Some people have kittens when they see his name on the team sheet. Apart from his howler at Newcastle and struggling at Villa, every other game he was either man of the match or in the reckoning, Regis knars,
Notice the Man City defence couldn't cope with Watkins yesterday. He's almost impossible to mark when he's on song.

He was remonstrating with a seasoned European full back (Reinildo) at some point in the first half when they both went for the same ball/marked the same man.

Telling him "hew, Mandava, he's mine, yours was unmarked at the back post. Get your f***ing head in the game."

Just been watching Luke O'Nien my sunderland story on YouTube while waiting for MOTD.

Its from 3 years ago but its an amazing video and I smiled throughout it all. There's one quote in particular that stood out.

Well luke you were spot on and you are here and a huge reason for us being where we are now.

What a great lad and what a great story.

How cute was it though when he came on with his kids and was kicking the ball about with them

The ENITRE stadium singing Rocking All Over The World just made that moment even more special.

He is Mr Sunderland and the doubters can now finally go do one.
09 rockin all over the world

Was emotional

Can't be many players that have played in tier 7 of the football pyramid and rose all the way to the prem & europe

I cried at this, I cried when Reggie came back out to his reaction then I cried at Xhaka's speech.

What a day, probably one of the best, if not best atmosphere's ever in the SOL. So happy to be there.
