RLB

I think he has shown he is learning, just as much as the young talent we have on the pitch. At times in the championship it looked like he wasn't learning from his mistakes, but no-one can level that at him now, what he has achieved with so many new players is remarkable. Hopefully he continues on his journey with us and can turn us into a real force, as i'm sure that is the end goal of KLD
 

Most impressive thing about him this season is that he has rarely been outthought tactically by another manager.

Most defeats came down to being outclassed by better players on the pitch, plus the odd bad day at the office (Forest at home, Brentford away).
 
He does deserve enormous credit but my view is that it’s the players who are mostly responsible for what goes on in the pitch. He and his staff organise and do tactics but they can’t actually make the players do it.

There are some cases where the manager is clearly unsuitable and out of his depth (eg Beale, Amorim) but in my view it’s the players letting the half decent manager down that get him the sack (eg Eddie Howe - I know he hasn’t been sacked but this could happen soon if they get a crap start to the season).

So I think RLB could improve in his decision making at times but yes he has done exceptionally well.

I love him and I love every single player in that team particularly ELF and Mukiele.
 
Would have got champions league if that Italian fella hadn't left ... can't remember his name, but he was the driving force iirc.

Worked with Ronaldo you know.

If he’s sold, they’ll kick right off. :lol:

Totally agree!
Even the bad defeats like the ones mentioned above were analyzed and improved on!
In the past it would have been recriminations and the blame game.

That's been a feature of then season generally - responded to adversity really well. Thought the Brentford defeat was going to knock the stuffing out of the team, especially give the penalty miss.
 
I’m a bit concerned people’s expectations are now raised to the point that if we’re in a relegation battle next season (while competing in Europe) people are going to be calling for his head?

I know you say top 10, but surely even just staying up with a good run in Europe (Forest this season I suppose) would be a great thing for this club - get some exposure to European football and continue to build the club for future runs in the future

Staying up with a couple of games to spare and getting out of the group would do me.

I think 24/36 teams get out the group - so with our finances I’d be gutted if we didn’t at least make it through to the knock outs. But aye - doing well in Europe and stopping up really should be the aim imo.
