Cup font


Pedants fookin’ corner here, but we need a new TYPEFACE not a font. 😉

To explain (and continue the bore-off), the typeface is the overarching design. The font is the name for the weight or size of it. So, Helvetica is the typeface, Helvetica Medium Italic is the font.

I used to know a couple of lads who designed typefaces for a living and made a fortune out of it. Maybe we can get someone to knock out a SAFC Europa typeface. But they’d need to get cracking right now.

The lad who designed the TYPEFACE for a recent England kit previously worked for Sunderland, and I think he's back at Sunderland now. I guess it would look similar to the typeface they've used on socials.

I love little things like this. Like one of the reasons I got excited at us being promoted in 1999 was that we'd have 'the Premier League font' on our shirt. Pathetic really, but love it.

(Also, worked with fonts and typefaces all my working career and always get them mixed up)

Forgotten all about this like. Will be the first time we’ve ever joined in round 3 of both cups 🤷‍♂️

Also we’ll be playing at least 6 more games than we did this season, even if we get knocked out of all the cups as soon as possible.

Wouldnt be against using the hummel typeface if that’s a possibility, Xhaka 34 with a lovely little lower case hummel ‘h’
