I will congratulate my SAFC supporting neighbour (Brick, if you know him) later. He will most likely be nursing a major hangover by now. That or already in Hanlon for a ‘mender’.

Shame really because I used to live around there when they were in League One and I thought it was a good club with cracking fans who could’ve easily supported bigger teams.

I suppose they’ve been in the top flight long enough now to have picked up a fair few entitled knackers.
 
Im in a work chat filled with Leeds fans and one of them congratulated me and I said it was quite funny considering we finished 24 points behind them, all quiet on the yorkshire front atm but knowing them they’re seething trying not to bite

You’re right but really the only person I know of that ilk, hasn’t mentioned football to me since the last derby, not once, whereas previous to that I couldn’t shut her up. So I’m not the sort of person to be like that to her. And I’m not nasty online, I just give the odd little reminder to people who have made predictions. Something obviously you should NEVER do and not expect any comeback.
 
Living in rural East Yorkshire - and having given up my season ticket over a decade ago - I get no grief and nobody gives a shit apart from maybe my Hull City supporting Brother in Law (who has his own parade to march on - as it were).

Elsewhere my Bury supporting mate (who used to frequent these boards) is celebrating another promotion to the next rung on the ladder back to the EFL and my Real Betis supporting Son in Law is celebrating ‘EuroBetis’ where he lives in the mountains north west of Barcelona. Both of them are in Spain. Obvs in the car if the SiL.

All-in-all everybody I know who gives a slight shit about football is celebrating apart from the Bury lads Spanish missus who is a Madrileñas and supports Atletico.

Actually living in this relative bubble of football obliviosity is - apart from being a word that I made up just now - probably healthier for emotional stability and mental wellbeing.

They think they're the best ever promoted team. I could see watching Boro and Hull play why they might think that but they are ignoring the fact everyone below them were utterly shite and they still couldn't hit 100 points
