I think you’ve just summed up why programs like Football Focus and MOTD are finished. Bland, inane questions, few insights that aren’t already obvious to viewers. All the stuff that matters is already seen elsewhere.

Fuck me when you think employing Wayne Rooney as a commentator, pundit and even a podcaster is the way to engage viewers it just shows that the people making these appointments know even less about broadcasting than they do about football.
