I had to google it like as it’s never been of interest until now :lol:

If I’ve got it right then every team plays 8 games - 4 home and 4 away. Every team plays 2 teams from each pot and we won’t meet another English team in the league phase.

Then the knockout round is based on league position after those 8 games. There are 36 teams in the league table.

Teams from 1st to 8th in the league after their 8 games go straight through to the knockouts and teams from 9th - 24th go into a playoff for the knockout stage.

Teams from 9th to 16th get home advantage in the second leg of that playoff.

Teams from 25th - 36th are out of Europe altogether.

After that it’s a bog standard knockout format

Both Villa and Forest played there this season and I don’t think there were any problems at all. Certainly not with Villa. I think there are worse places these days.
 
Please, please Milan finish in Europa spot....that would finish off the mags on this glorious bank holiday Sunday! 🤣
