Geertruida

We may lose him because of Regis obsession with playing his love child Hume, in any position😁
Happy to stick with what RLB thinks rather than some dweeb on here.
I'm not giving Hume stick, just think he is getting shoe horned into the team just so he plays. I don't miss a game by the way😁, season ticket holder for 40years.
If you read what Le Bris has said on the matter it actually makes sense.

Regis love child is t giving him stick??

Maybe the player deserves our respect cos he’s helped us on our journey from league 1 to the verge of Europe. Maybe Regis earned enough credit to not be insulted by eediots on line.
First of all, it was a bit of humour. Second I'm not an idiot, that is an insult, and there's no need, so settle down, it's a discussion board.

Well, he is playing an extra defender basically. But at the expense of a more attacking player, because Hume is a good defender, but not a midfield player.
Maybe he’s changed his mind about signing for us?

Tbf whatever you think about RLB’s team selections, the fact we are playing for a position in Europe tomorrow makes it difficult to question them
If it gets results and it is. But we have got the highest number of points in the league, coming from behind. That's because he changes his more defensive system when we concede, and it has worked.
It will be interesting to see what he does in a game that we need to win? I think he will start defensive initially, trying not to concede, then change it as the game goes on to try and win it.
It would be good to see us in a more attacking system from the start.

Really? 😁 so you struggle dealing with a difference of opinion? I was replying to someone who inferred I didn't go to games.
With respect marra calling a player “Regis love child “ indicates a bit of a lack of appreciation for both the Manager and player ( I know you then said it was an attempt at “humour ?”) but haway …they have both been integral to our season and our success.
Been tremendous season and everyone deserves a massive pat on the back …

I’ve come round to the rationale of playing Hume on the right of midfield. Le Bris explained his reasoning and given his methods it makes perfect sense while we’ve got no out and out right winger with the ability to provide such defensive stability.

I fully expect Hume to start there tomorrow and depending on the state of the game, be replaced on or around the 70th minute when we’re hopefully in a position to go and win the game.

Of course they do. I think he does change the system to accommodate Hume, but that's what football generates, different opinions. It would be boring if we all thought the same. Why have a discussion board?

My thoughts as well. Everton was a great example of bringing Pace, Pace and Pace on.

Hhhaaa'wwwwaaaaayyyyyy the Lads

I think it’s one of those “trust the process” situations, though at times it’s difficult to when he’s so clearly out of his comfort zone playing there.

I see Leeds are the latest club to be linked . I can see this lad shining next season at another club . Can’t see any rational reason why we are not signing this lad .

The rationale is sound and was as many thought. The problem is that Hume, for whatever reason, either doesnt have the confidence or the skillset to play the role without giving the ball away often. Maybe Rigg could do the job better?

Anyway, in Regis we trust.

Controversial opinion but I think I'd be less upset if Ballard or Alderte went instead of him
Very very very controversial

However if I had to make that deal- no rules or regulations at play I’d be very sad to but I am letting Ballard go. Nordi and alderete are our best centre back pairing for me.

I’m buying Gerty everyday of the week me! I think he’s been criminally underused

Aye it's a no brainer for me but hits versatility is probably his downfall

May piss people off but it would be better to buy gert play him right back. Nordi into the middle and cash in on Ballard or/and Hume.
Buy a right hand side midfielder and instantly a stronger side.
I've been thinking along the same lines for some time.

Ballard is an awesome centre-half, who has shown that he can also be an occasional goal threat. But Mukiele and Alderete are better still.

Hume is a very decent right-back and also adequate cover as an emergency left-back, I remain unconvinced that he is in any way a midfielder. However, Geertruida is way ahead of him in terms of footballing ability and footballing 'nous' and provides a different set of options in terms of covering at right-sided centre-back and defensive midfielder. I think that he and Mukiele could 'dovetail' very effectively on the right side of our defence.

Hopefully Le Bris will have been having similar conversations with Geertruida that he has apparently been having with Isidor, with regard to the futures at the club.
He is second best RB at the club… à comfortable second to Nordi, who thankfully, in the absence of Omar is the best available CB at the club, second best when all CB are available
Dont get me wrong I believe Gerty is very very good and hope we keep him
For me our first choice defence when all players available ( even hair pullers ) is
Gerty Nordi Omar Reinildo
When all fit that is a top 6 team back 4
This. Very much this.

We need home grown players still. Ballard counts towards that and has really stepped up playing a key role in this seasons performance. Cant see him going any time soon, especially the way Ghisolfi spoke about him. Hume I could see moving on in time, but equally seems to be one of the key players RLB leans on

Anyone advocating selling Ballard can't be aware of the squad rules. Selling one of the very few 'home grown' players on our senior books is the last thing we should be doing.Once the likes of Sadiki, Talbi and Diarra are counted as senior players, we're going to be knackered, squad wise and recruitment wise. Doubly so, were we to qualify for Europe. We have Moore, Cirkin, Ballard and O9 as senior home grown players, meaning we can only have 21 senior players, as it is. Selling Ballard is needlessly hamstringing ourselves.
