Ahmed Abdullahi

I'm a big fan of RLB. Exactly the type of calmness you want from a manager. He has his way of doing it and he sticks to it. I thought he'd messed up the run in to the play offs last season but he had a plan and his team pulled it off.

He obviously gets to see more of the players than any off us here but he does tend to make his mind up on a player based on their performances in training/attitude. He's definitely not handing players first team opportunities just because they're next in line. Clearly sending a message to Abdullahi at this point. Looked for all the world that he'd be involved yesterday then wasn't even on the bench.

As others have said they lad looks way above U21 standard when he has played at that level but mustn't be ticking the other boxes RLB insists on. I hope the message sinks in because Abdullahi looks like he could develop into a really good striker option.

Admire RLB for setting standards for all players to adhere to but as other have said it might be the reason he never gets to that top level. Sometimes you just have to make allowances for a maverick if they deliver on the pitch. Not saying that's Ahmed but moving forward if you want game changers they sometimes come with flaws.

Regis does have a good reputation for developing young players so hopefully our young players realise this and start to deliver the standards he's set.

Think this is fair. Say he goes up a level, he’s going to have to deal with higher level Adingra type players. Talented players who can just do something to win a game, but struggle to fit into tactical disciplined systems.

Cheers.
Exhibit A - Cantona.
Ferguson doesn't become Sir Alex if he didn't make allowances to allow the enfant terrible to sprinkle magic onto Man Utd.
It's a relatively risk free concept as well. Supporters adore a flair player and I imagine the rest of the squad accept different treatment for players who can make a difference on the pitch.
Interesting to see if RLB can adapt when Ghislofi brings one in.....

The lad needs a loan and get plenty games under his belt. He's definitely a talent mind. He has all the attributes to be a very good player
Always looks a class above when I've seen him for the u21's. If he can keep injury free, a good loan will do him the world of good

Aye and the interesting thing is that he rarely plays back to back u21 games because he's either being treated very carefully or is just coming back from an injury/knock. So if he can get a run of games under his belt he should be even better.

Looked a bit over weight against Burnley in the final . Hopefully he can put his injuries behind him and get a decent loan next season . Could be a kenwayne Jones type but looks like he can strike a ball better .
