Score the first goal on Sunday

Only twice this year have we scored the first goal at home, against Burnley and Spurs.
I think Chelsea will struggle if we manage it on Sunday

Whilst it has given us cause not to panic, as we can overcome it, it’s a bit of an annoying habit conceding first. It’s happened too much this season. Think we’ve only won by more than one goal 3 times? Obviously overall we’ve done well, but they’re two themes I’d like to see fucked right off next season. More 3/4-0 wins please
West Ham, Newcastle, Arsenal, Wolves and Leeds we did it as well mate
Think he meant 2026

The one major change I would like to see for next season is to start games strongly and aggressively.
While it's great that we have notched up 22 points from losing positions, it would be far better to lead early on.
Let's start on Sunday.

Disagree

Our advantage often seems to come from our players being fitter and playing with more control of the ball/less pointless running around

This grinds oppositions down and therefore it is no surprise that we win a lot of points from losing positions late in games

Especially when we can bring on fresh, faster players like Wilson and Chemdine late in matches

Teams that set off at 100mph like a bunch of Run Around Ronnies - and the Saudis are particularly guilty of this - tend to lose matches from winning positions late in games

This balance seems to work for us but Sunday’s match will be tough - Chelsea have spent a lot of money on their squad- some say finding new dodgy ways round the rules - but we have beaten them once already this season with a goal relatively late in the game

No need to change our approach at this stage I think
