England World Cup squad news

His deputy, if the BBC squad is right, hardly has a great fitness record, as well.
Overall the defenders he has chosen, other than guehi are very ordinary
The thought of the likes of Olise, Dembele and Mbappe (of France ) attacking James Guehi and Dan Burn doesnt fill me with a great deal of confidence

I don’t think we’re blessed with a lot of top class defenders though. Burn, in particular is a bizarre choice but the other options aren’t exactly world class.

Finishing 16th was successful?

The only time we were successful was the playoff final when he was taken off injured almost immediately. Or the league one playoff final he was dropped for.

Onien wasn’t good enough for the championship and isn’t good enough for this team either. And is still a better option for England than burn.
You mean the league one playoff final he played the whole game in, that one?

Maguire, MGW, Foden & Palmer for Burn, Henderson, Madueke & Toney and it would have been about right.

Saying that, its evident what he’s going for; he probably wont even use many more than 16 players and he’s taken players like Toney incase of a pen shootout and Henderson / Burn for the ‘group’

Yep there was a time we had an embarrassment of riches in defence especially at CB
Now we are bursting at the seams with hard running midfielders like Rice, Anderson, Bellingham
Other than Eze no one in the squad strikes me as an X factor player, even then
France has 3 I mentioned and maybe more
Spain has Yamal
Apparently Messi has been revving up his prep, training twice a day with a specialist, in an already talented and experienced squad
Who knows maybe I am underestimating

MGW should have been picked just for goal he scored against Mags ( pass from Anderson )
Very intelligent footballer

I agree, but he probably wouldnt play a minute anyway.

I get that but can’t Eze also play out wide? And Rogers to a degree? Fallout of it all is going to be interesting. Hopefully Palmer is just thinking of sulking in the Maldives on Sunday and can’t be arsed
Yeah I think they can and offer something different to Rashford/Gordon. That would then leave space central for Bellingham or the other one central

I’d have probably taken Palmer tbh, I think he’s a player who can deliver a “big moment” in a cup

Good god that defence is poverty. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’d only James, Guehi and O’Reilly get anywhere near our starting eleven.
Haway man, you've picked the best 3 players out of that group of defenders! O'Reilly in particular has been class for City in a number of positions, won them the League cup final.

And ? Doesn't mean they're "appalling"
Decent enough indicator
Won5 out of 6 against prem teams he's played longer than a half against
Well claiming a penalty shootout win in a cup game against their U21s is a stretch for starters. And games were won despite him throwing one in our own net at SJP not because of it
What an absolute clown you are.

Why’ve you decided to wade in on O’Nein on a thread about the England squad? If you’re not a Mag already you should fuck off and support them instead of slagging off our players.
Since you’re incapable of reading, it was me agreeing with someone saying he’d rather have onien than burn in said England squad
