Europa or Conference League


They need to change the name of conference to something more prestigious as it sounds a bit tin pot... especially to the UK footy fans.

Any ideas?

There are plenty of historic clubs in the Conference league and the fact it gives clubs from smaller nations a go at Europe is the best thing about it. I’d snap your hands off for a trip to Slovenia.
 
I was talking to one of the old boys when I was out earlier. He doesn't attend, but his neighbour does. The neighbour is apparently saying he doesn't want Europe.

He's got about 30 years on me so will have seen a great deal more. I've seen enough relegations to know it'll probably happen again, so why not have a European campaign? It's the absolute chance of a lifetime, I can't actually believe people don't want it as it's a distraction! A distraction from what? Keep finishing mid table? Let's get carried away man.

Some right prats about man. Why would you not want european football. It’s what it’s all about.

Would mean a possible away day in Juventus, Roma, Como or…….. Milan 😉

Doesn't matter. Just means that the Champions League place that Villa would have gotten from winning the Europa (they've qualified for the Champions League already) drops down one place, meaning one more English team in the Champions League, but one less in the Europa.

Thought I'd read somewhere that we would maintain the amount of Europa League places, giving us an extra place in the conference.

We gotta stay humble, great season no matter what. Any European qualification would be brilliant.

But there is something xtra special about the idea of experiencing away days in some iconic grounds.

San Siro against Milan would just be an incredible experience. But knowing that it would be destroying them would just make it that ever so slightly sweeter…..

I think that would have been dependent on Chelsea winning the FA Cup, rather than City, who by that point had already qualified for the Champions League.
