I'm not sure he is, he's a lad who has played well undoubtedly but I wouldn't want to be relying on him regularly

And the motm things is a bit misleading as he got one v Leeds when a blind man on a galloping horse could see Alderete was the best player on the pitch that night

You seem to be deliberately conflating "starting PL player" with "valuable member of a squad".

I don't think anyone is claiming he should be first choice. That still makes him a premier league quality player though

No, I asked the question would he get in any other side and someone said he would. Id like to know which sides. That's all.
 
For context, Bournemouth outplayed City last night with Adam Smith at right back and James Hill at centre back. Neither of them are household names or cost a lot of money. Brighton have had the likes of Dunk, Webster and March in their team in recent years.

"Premier League" quality means being able to fulfil your role in the team. You don't need to be a superstar, just a competent footballer. When O'Nien makes a mistake, people jump on in a way that they don't with other players. He didn't play well against Villa but he has performed perfectly adequately in his other appearances. He is a squad player and happy to accept that role while helping to set mentality in training and games.

You just never know with some players they fit into a system and it just clicks.
I not saying LON should be starting no chance unless we have injuries,
but a great example is Dan Burn he pretty much played must his football in the lower leagues apart from 70 odd games over 4 seasons for Brighton so hardly a regular, then he turns up at Newcastle in his early 30’s and is one of there main defenders for 4 seasons even getting a call up for England.
No way would you have thought that in his earlier years.

That has really surprised me tbh. He's still good enough and young enough to be playing regularly somewhere. I genuinely didn't think he'd be happy to accept not playing
