Saudi PIF in talks with potential investors

I have managed to also exclusively obtain some plans! What Sunderland are planning is build on our community involvement by floating the stadium on 6 blimps (representing the 6 top flight league titles) over the city so we can move to play locally (above) Sunderland.

As you can see theres even a picture so plans are well advanced

This. The buying of some property on Leazes Terrace means nothing as they can’t do anything with them anyway due to Grade I status. It’s more likely it’s to boost their price of a potential sale or investment imo.
Whilst it will be hilarious if Leazes Tce stops the ground from being extended and I hope that’s the case , taking local rivalry out of it , it seems madness that a set of buildings with no “great” historical history can prevent the most important asset in the City from improvement. I understand why buildings are listed and if it were the walls of Newcastle City or some Roman fort I’d get it , but Newcastle Utd is the most important asset to that City and means way more than those buildings .
Having said all that “Haway the listed buildings “

No monorail. I smell bullshit.

Is that bloke still parking his shipping container outside the East stand at St James park after his dispute with the club? It may have been downgraded to a garden fence in recent years.

Saudis willing to sell 25% of their Newcastle stake

I'm currently over in Saudi and this seems to be gathering pace now and rumours are flying that they want to get shot of them, maybe they are losing interest or maybe the pot isn't as bottomless as they thought. A lot of plans they had for areas over here and expansion works are getting shelved.

They're handsome Georgian builsings, there before NUFC existed.

Meanwhile, Sunderland council are deliberately building ugly new buildings as close to the SoL as possible to prevent us extending.

That's madness for you. WDSC.

I’m not sure what you want here? Sunderland council to build Georgian buildings? A massive unused, open space for the off chance we might extend at some point? You think the council purposely put plans forward for their own houses only to knock them back themselves later? Are you suggesting they’re planning these out of spite?

They rejected the plans to be so close to the stadium anyway
And aren’t the club happy with that now?

They were used to distract the news cycle from them chopping up a journalist. They then invested heavily in sports at home to further move on from that story. While leaving things ticking over and promising the world at their now already served its purpose investment.

The definition of sports washing and them deluded ***** up the road lapped it up. Should be a laugh a minute from here on in.

The ‘wa neva wanted tham he’a in tha fust place’ will come soon enough….

Don't build buildings a few metres from the ground and prevent extension of the stadium.

I'm not sure why you're so confused, you've already identified that it has frustrated Newcastle.
