Southampton spying compendium thread


Might get worse for Southampton. Suggestion the players have contacted the PFA for legal advice. Some suggestions they could pursue a claim for breach of contract.
 
Southampton fans divided about 65% /35% in favour of getting rid of Eckert. The FA may well have a punishment in mind for him.

Southampton are going to be absolute pariahs at every ground next season. I feel sympathy for the players, except for Taylor Harwood-Bellend, binoculars boy.

They were looking forward to a possible mega pay rise and the prestige of the PL. Now they realise their manager is an out and out cheat. Morale will be rock bottom, and how do they now feel about their manager? How does he motivate them, knowing the stunts he pulled and being caught out?

Even the appeal could say OK it's harsh but still give a simple 3-0 awarding of the home game to Boro as that's the training for the game they spied on. It would be the same thing, Southampton being out of the playoffs. Same result but not as harsh a punishment.

If for example a team get caught during the season trying to cheat another team by spying then they forfeit the game 3-0 but they aren't kicked out of the division. The EFL obviously can't do that now and award a load of 3-0's, hence the 4 point deduction but will that get reduced also?

I highly doubt the appeal will be successful given all the details that have since come out.

I completely agree. Just a 3-0 punishment and the outcome is the same. Maybe a 5 point reduction for each of the other offences they've admitted to and after appeal they could be worse off than they are now.

Sporting Lisbon players walked away from the club and contracts after being attacked at the training ground. Unsafe working environment being the reason. Clubs can sack staff and players for breaking contract terms so surely staff and players can “sack” clubs for similar reasons?

Hull must be clueless if they’ve been training to play Southampton. As clueless as all those on here who thought Southampton wouldn’t be thrown out.
