Ive already got my letter ready to send to Viz Top Tips for next season -

Worried about losing a major football match? Get one of yer mates to come down to your training session wearing an opponents shirt and hide behind a nearby bush with a pair of binoculars.

Then record him doing this so that if you lose, you send the recording to the FA to guarantee your team goes through.

Why would Southampton do it if it wasn't to gain an advantage in the two legged tie?

I can't understand any argument saying that it didn't help Southampton win. Of course it did, that's why they did it.

Nah, if a team was spying on us and found out that we were going to switch to 3 at the back or two up top specifically to counter the opponents, how is that not a massive, massive advantage considering how the games are down to really fine margins?

Good to know other forums have pretend ITKs too.
 
I'm surprised that they just booted them out, rather than booting them out by the 3 - 0 awarding of the first leg ... that would have seemed a cleaner way of doing it and related directly to the match they spied before. Not bothered mind, the result is correct.

The more they investigate, the more they will find and the more legal cases they'll have from teams within the league.

Reinstating Boro is just fixing the problem for one team. Their solution could become a problem for them if they uncover more.
