Iirc the final day of the 99-00 season had us in with a chance of 6th and UEFA Cup qualification ahead of Chelsea if results went our wayWhat were the last day scenarios in Reidy's two 7th placed finishes? Apart from that this Sunday is a unique situation for us. Plenty of last day drama in other seasons but it could be something totally new we witness this weekend.
Apart from the last time they played down there. They always do well down there IIRC
Sure weve had worse final days beforeI dont think going for Europe on the final day is a nightmare scenario like.
Nah can't finish 13th as Mags/Fulham play each other so both can't overtake us.We can finish between 7th-13th. That is the scenario
Maybe go for a walk and not over think things ehPlease someone work this out
If Chelsea do not win tonight and we draw on Sunday.
Liverpool win
Mags win could put them ahead of us and in Europe!

I think I’d rather take 10th place now with mags behind us than risk the nightmare scenario highlighted by the OPI dont think going for Europe on the final day is a nightmare scenario like.
At least you’ve moved on from Leeds have had a better season than us and are definitely going to finish above usDefinitely a strong chance Newcastle finish above us, yes

Yep.. I’ve heard a few mentions of them not wanting ‘yurup’ due to it being much easier to qualify for ‘yurup’ if you’re not in ‘yurup’.. they’re moronic.I’m not convinced Howe would want European football next season tbh. From a financial point of view, it won’t cover the losses from missing out on the champions league and they will still need to sell.
From a footballing point of view, I think he will be desperate to focus on the domestic stuff to save his job.
That said, they will celebrate like they have won the Champions league if they finish above us on Sunday. Just shows how far we have come in a year
Nice to end up above them, but won't diminish this season's achievements if not. Incidental.
We have to remember that at any other club our achievements would be a massive disappointment. The manager probably ends up being sacked. Goes to show how little we have to achieve over so long that just staying up and winning a few games is seen as a massive accomplishment. Chelsea fans will be scratching their heads wondering how we are celebrating just staying up and winning a handful of games as passionately as they would at winning the FA Cup. That’s the greatest advantage we’ve had over most of the other teams in the Premier League.i
Win, lose or draw there is no disappointment in anything
Just concentrate on our game win it and we have done all we can
If it happens and we get Europe then what a season
If we dont then again what a season
