Anyone not wanting Europe?

Why would our squad be any better in a few years’ time?

In our previous spells in the top flight after the initial buzz of promotion it’s gradually circled the drain.
I know where you're coming from but previously we'd get more journeymen in rather than looking at potential and future sell on profits than we are now.

We were careless with the money throwing big wages at players but not always getting a return on the pitch losing loads of money. This time it's completely different as we're living completely within our means but at the same time bringing in some quality players.

I don't think we'll be repeating the likes of getting a Danny Graham for a 2nd stint or Everton has-beens.

I’m positive in that I want us to smash Sunday, get into Europe and get me buzzing for the draw.

This ‘build patiently for tomorrow’ thing has never panned out how we want it in the past, so I’m saying you can’t assume it.

We have a mint team now and we should go for everything we can 😎
Mint team now, will be better next season.

It has been said many times on here. The qualifying English club should win that Conference. Whoever it is.
This.

The prem is so far ahead of the others in the conference league in terms of finance.

Europa league is a bit more of a challenge, then the champions league is very tough.
I’m in two minds
Europe be outstanding achievement
But it’s the impact of our domestic campaign look how many teams struggle
If we get there great if we don’t meh
The last team to be relegated during a European campaign were Ipswich - back in 2001.

Most do alright.
I don't get that at all. You can't pick and choose when to be relatively successful
A similar argument was being made about promotion on here last season.

‘Not ready for the prem. Rather stay down here for a season or two continuing to build.’

Can fuck right off with that bollocks.

Surely that was a totally different argument though? The financial benefits that came with promotion made it an absolute no brainer, this on the other hand is a financial drain and make competing domestically more difficult. Don't get me wrong I'd love to win it but it sits below the domestic cups imo and we didn't exactly look that up for them.

A better example would be the people who claimed getting knocked out of the FA cup was best as we wouldn't win it anyway and we could concentrate on the league.

I've never seen anyone say the domestic cups are ahead of European cups mind, fair play.

Might still go down without europe. Have to take opportunities as they arrive.

Many thought we weren't ready to go up last year and needed another year in the champ

Imagine if we won and got Europe, the city centre afterwards in 22 degree heat man. It would be one of the best days ever for Sunderland in my life time. I would be a mess.

our recruitment in the summer will be built around whichever scenario we end up with.
I'm not worried if we do qualify

Fook off back to league one and an away trip to Burton Albion.

Why do people support their clubs if they don’t want European football.
Jesus fooking Christ come and have some of my shite for a few weeks then say you don’t want European football.
Unbelievable just unbelievable. Let me swap places please.

The effect it may have on recruitment could be an odd one, instead of primarily looking to upgrade the first 11 with one or two, the onus would be on the squad. Would be good news for getting value out of the likes of Mundle, Rigg, Angulo etc...

That being said, I would be far better than over the moon, first in my lifetime.
