The Last Time We Played Everton and Chelsea Consecutively

Get Into Em

Striker
Two season defining games at the back end of the 2015/16 season under Big Sam.

Both games were played in May.
In both games we scored 3 goals.
We won both games.
The Chelsea game created one of the best atmospheres the SoL has seen.
The two games ensured we finished above the mags and they didn't reach their target.
Prior to the two games were two draws - a 1-1 and a 0-0, one at home and one away.

History repeating itself exactly one decade later?

(Anar they were both played at home, and we played Chelsea prior to Everton).

The atmosphere at both those games was tremendous.

The atmosphere at the 4-1 under Reidy was the best of the lot though.
Delayed by an hour or so because of some electrical problems if I remember rightly, so an extra hour in the pub for everyone!

Some effort not to highlight the fact that beating Everton that night actually relegated both Norwich and the mags.
You're right about them 'not reaching their target':lol::lol:

It was the next season it was delayed by an hour against Chelsea. We won 1-0, Phillips scored a penalty and Arca had a goal not given (crossed the line but before goalline tech).

Think that may have been the one where Le Saux and Kilbane were sent off for handbags, but that may have been the 0-0 the next year.

I'm highlighting the similarities between the two fixtures this season, and the two fixtures in 2016.

Ofcourse they got relegated, their target was to stay up. They didn't reach it.
This season their target is Europe. If we win on Sunday, they won't reach it.

The mags aren't going to be relegated this season, so pointing that out when comparing similarities would be a bit of a pointless exercise?

Extra hour in the pub must have blurred my memories

I remember going to Chelsea Away, pretty sure it was first match of that season and they thrashed us, if Sutton had been better it could have been 10-0
So the turnaround was remarkable.

Are you saying the mags cop a points deduction before Sunday and get relegated? Gerrin!

One of the best things about those games was the feeling that the sol was back to where it had been when opened, didnt turn out that way but I thought it was quite emotional.
