Europa or Conference League

There seems to be a weird assumption on here that we’ll build and get stronger each year.

Every other team gets the same TV cash as us - there’s an equal chance we’ll get worse than better, relative to other clubs.

Seize the moment.

There are absolutely no guarantees in the Premier League anymore (because of the reasons you say) when it comes to the "also rans".
Who would ever have expected Spurs to be fully involved in a relegation dogfight?
Whilst everyone expects Coventry, Ipswich and the Play Off winners to struggle next season, that is the same as what was said about us this season.

In my lifetime, closest we've been to qualifying for Europe;
League Cup Final against Man City in 2014
Millwall in the FA Cup Semi Final (which was basically a play off to qualify) in 2004
7th Place Finish under Peter Reid in 2001
7th Place Finish under Peter Reid in 2000

They've not come around often, so if we do somehow manage to win on Sunday and get the results in our favour then I will be absolutely bouncing with joy

If Chelsea beat Spurs tomorrow night they'll be going to have a say on Sunday, assuming both Brentford and Brighton get beat we would still need to win to get to any European competition surely a must win on Sunday then.

What's Chelsea say in this?

Do they need a win or are they on the beach already
They can still qualify for either competition. Might only need a draw if they beat Spurs.

How motivated they are is another question - players like Enzo probably think Conference League is beneath them.

When will we be ready? Strike while the iron is hot. This is a unique season where 8th gets Europe, that might not happen next year, Spurs and Chelsea might recover strongly, the Saudis will spend big again.

I'm not saying it's now or never, but the last time was 1973 so that should give you some idea of how hard it is to do.
Just to qualify my position.

If we do qualify for Europe and have an okay season, I'm fine with that.

If we do qualify for Europe it's going to make summer spending interesting.
Plus it will really sicken the visitors up the road 🤣

Isn’t there still an outside chance they can get CL at the moment, if 6th became a CL spot by Villa winning their final? Hopefully that chance will be extinguished tomorrow and Chelsea lose all interest.

Listening to a pod today, they reckon Chelsea players and hierarchy don’t want europa or conference. They want a clear run at the league with Alonso like Man U this season.

Summit I read about suffering with spend if in Europe and prize money for conference is simply not worth it for a club trying to establish itself in PL.
Do you want to experience European away days or sit behind your keyboard and look at our accounts instead?

If Chelsea win tomorrow night they remove Fulham, Everton and the Saudis from the European conversation. It will then be two from four. Brighton, Brentford us and Chelsea. We need to win either way so Chelsea winning tomorrow makes very little difference to us.

But equally, we have to beat Chelsea anyway, which would also mean that we are finishing above the first three, so they’re irrelevant. The result tonight will impact Chelsea’s approach to the weekend game. They’ll be well up for a chance of CL, can’t imagine they’ll give a toss about the conference.

For what its worth, the two finals of the two comps next year are as follows;

Europa League - Frankfurt (53,000)
Conference League - Istanbul (Besiktas Stadium 42,000)

Massively premature - Yes
Exciting - Yes

Conference League final is not 100% confirmed yet. Apparently, if the New Ankara Stadium in Ankara is completed on time, the Turkish Football Federation are going to request to UEFA to host the match there.

Yes, I am also being massively premature and looking at such things.... 😂 😂
Dare to Dream!
