Luke O'Nien

I think it's fair to say that he's playing way above his ability. It's OK to acknowledge his overall limitations while also praising the contribution he has made this season.

Absolutely delighted for him that he's managed to get some great Premier League performances under his belt. In a season packed full of highs, there's something pretty magical about him being an active part of it. I'd love to see the club develop a Liverpool-esque "boot room" culture, with Xhaka and O'Nien transitioning to coaching roles over the next few seasons.

Played well yesterday, but still lost Beto who somehow missed a free header.

Made some important tackles, he is okay as a stand in, but cant be expected to start in the premier league, Villa targeted him.

Well that makes you a fool.

Stuff Luke did yesterday after he came on... could Alderete have done that? we are still only in with a chance at Europe because of the several clearances 09 made.

Its time people stop making out he is some massive concern.
It doesn't I love the lad and he was excellent yesterday, he's just got that one moment in him like city , Newcastle, and one he got away with at least, last time he played against a quality striker (Watkins) he had an absolute shocker, Pedro will make it extremely difficult, I think most people would rather Hume RB gertruida cb

Villa has to be taken in the context though that most of the 1st team were playing with diarrhea. They were all ill that weekend.

He was great just think he'd struggle against really good strikers nothing wrong with that

Disagree with this. You can only play to your ability. So if he’s playing at a higher level we have to reassess his ability.

That's fair. He's rarely looked out of place, and even when he has made a mistake (like mags away) he has been able to dust himself off and go again.

I don't think he's a massive concern either. He's just about always looked competent but he does have a mistake in him over 90 minutes.

Either way, he's done himself no harm with his performances this season. If the club feel it's time to part ways in the summer, then he's played his way into an offer from a better club than he would have had at the start of this season.

His height is the only issue for me and Everton looked more dangerous without Alderate. He was immense yesterday in every other way and love the lad.

Every player has a mistake in them over 90 minutes. Everton were celebrating the last home game of one of their best, reliable players in their history. He was the one who failed to cut out the ball allowing Isodor to score.
