We have been doing what we do best for as long as I’ve been in Sunderland supporter. Be Sunderland. In my time I’ve never really seen us be compared equally to the mid table teams in Premier League days of old. We have always struggled to get within a few year’s development of these clubs. But most games on my time has been vital to putting us in some sort of decent starting position to be able to do that. Be it in the Championship, League One or when we have been in the Premier League in the lower echelons.

So I’d say pretty much every game I’ve seen us play either in person at the stadium or when we’ve been away on tv or the radio has been crucial to salvaging some form of consolation for ourselves. Some small degree of success.
 
The play off final a year ago was bigger, never mind FA cup finals, promotion must wins and league title games.

Other than that....

I've been on the RTG forum for five years and for the majority of it, you've moaned, whinged, knocked the team, labelled the best player we've had here as "cack" after only two games and wished cancer on a poster

League Cup final against Man City seems like a Sliding Doors moment.
