Celtic Park Today

Celtic and Rangers fans are not representative of the vast majority of Scottish football fans, never mind all Scottish people. In fact the arseholes you see on tv aren’t even very representative of rangers and Celtic fans.
Aren't the majority of Scottish football fans, actually Celtic or Rangers though?

It's their Ultras, cannot understand why they need to be separated!!
A lot of Celtic fans don't like them. Them and the Rangers ultras are modelled on the Italian style ultras. They think they run the club and their views represent the club. Only the ultras can sit in seats, no outsiders. You could be a Celtic season ticket holder for 30 years but you can't sit with them unless you follow the "code".

Celtic fans at this point have jumped the shark in my opinion, in an increasing battle to be seen as the most controversial bhoy

Some of my Celtic supporting mates learn gaelic

Some of them sing songs about HS2 being delayed??

They’re almost Leeds-esque in the chip they have on their shoulder about their controversiality

I don’t think so. Most people support their local team. Many don’t go to games due to the fact that the old firm dominate. Lots of them choose to support Scotland instead.

You’d be shocked by this then; UEFA found in 2023 that Scottish football is the best supported in Europe per capita with 18 people out of every thousand going to a footie game on the weekend

Celtic get 60k a week and Rangers 55k. That's a large chuck. The likes of Hibs and Aberdeen get 12k a week, that's not bad. Other clubs are only getting four figures at games.

2/3 of SPL attending fans are Celtic/Rangers. I suspect they have a disproportionately high number of non-attending fans too.

I always think the whole 'ultras' scene - be in overseas or copied here in the UK - seems somewhat homoerotic? Lots of big tough macho men together, wearing lots of black (love a mask too), no outsiders, no women .......... 🤔

Each to their own and all that ;)

Disgraceful fan behaviour - pitch invasion, Hearts players being physically/verbally abused, the game still had a minute left and was actually abandoned. Hearts forced to leave in such a hurry, players walking off the bus back home still with boots on!

Yet the response from authorities and media is relatively muted, and some articles about the game are silent on it. This should be being called out in the strongest terms as completely unacceptable, and with serious repercussions for Celtic.

Doesn’t help when the manager, someone as respected as O’Neill, claims to have not seen anything despite in the next breath saying he was trying to usher fans off the pitch. The sweeping brushes are out.

Surely if the match is abandoned then it is Celtic's fault for failing to control the fans and protecting the Heart's players and the points awarded to Hearts?

The referee can't have blown for full time as the match didn't kick off again after the goal. You would expect them to clear the pitch and play the remaining (at least) two minutes. Otherwise that game has been abandoned. What a shambles. I'm amazed nothing's been made of it. Just a shrug of the shoulders.

The claim is the ref blew for full-time after the goal but that isn't the rule. If the goal was scored after time is up, you can blow for full-time. But if the goal was scored before the allocated time, you must restart the game.

Ballard's goal against Coventry is a good example. It was the last attack of the game, if we miss the ref would have blown the whistle. But we scored before the 2 minutes were up. Coventry had to kick off.

Used to attend a lot of Hibs games when my Mam lived in Edinburgh and it was always a nice experience. Attended games in Glasgow before with work colleagues and the vibe is totally different. Loads of idiots and dead edgy. Rangers games I have been to were generally ok but every Celtic supporter I have known bar none have been the most arrogant, entitled bunch I have ever known in any league or at any level. Only speaking from my own experience of course....

Lots of big tough macho men together
Most of them are skinny waifs or middle.aged failures in life who've devoted their lives to eating and drinking, with a resulting physique like Mr Greedy.

Thinking back to the Prague derby last week, that would seem a fair outcome.
