I would say zero chance, but I suppose it'll get the gears grinding to suggest it.

The EFL can't impose a points deduction in the Premier League. Its the same reason Leicester escaped until they were relegated again. So in theory, they could get deducted points but say they stay up for the next 30 years they wouldn't face any punishment until they drop again.

I guess if it is Hull Southampton and Hull win then a points deduction would make sense. One of the many intricacies of this case though.

There’s no way the premier league tarnish their league with efl sanctions. That’s why clubs have had to wait till they got relegated to be punished by the efl. The premier league will see it as nowt to do with us jack 😂

What I’ve been thinking, if it’s down in the rule book that being kicked out of a competition is one punishment for this offence if an independent body recommends that then I’m not sure what leg Southampton would have to stand on trying to take it anywhere. Would only end up costing them more in the long run you’d imagine. I mean it’s clear they’ve been caught red handed or they’d have been all over this saying it wasn’t us.

Well there is precedent for playing the final then not letting the winning team (if it’s Southampton) go up - us versus Swindon. Pretty certain Bob Murray said he knew before the game we were going up regardless. Which was just as well given how shite we were that day!
