Southampton spying compendium thread

Baffled and tonight is just devalued but will watch out of morbid curiosity to see what plays out

So a lone wolf intern spied on multiple clubs and until last week Southampton assmued he/she was a genius analyst?

Mind, this only just scratches the surface if it is proven that this isn't just an isolated incident. I know they thrashed Wrexham quite recently, who only just missed out on the play offs. And i'm sure there'll be other examples of where it has impacted other teams in the mix.

I don't think this will just go away in the event of Boro beating them tonight.

Be points surely? Cant ban them from play off final...

Why not? If its decided a reasonable time before the final and they win tonight let Boro in. After the final or too close to the final, let Hull go up.

Also fine them multi millions and give it all to Boro

Doubt it.

It was a complete shock in fairness.
No shock for the last 10 years mind, continually being cheated by the owners of this club. Depressing for sure.
No-one I knew had heard anything about this until some time after the play off final and I don’t recall any whispers in the Sunderland Echo.
In Bob Murray’s autobiography he said that he and other officials/journalists all knew about it and it was being discussed in the hotels around Wembley before the match.

IMO, if Southampton are found guilty, then they have to be excluded from the play-off final.
The EFL will be hoping they lose tonight.
I think this will have a big impact on the result tonight, but not sure which way, and we will never know - Boro will be thinking that even if they lose they are through, while S’hampton will be thinking that even if they win they will be disqualified.

I understand what you are saying about the impact on other results pre-playoffs, but it is impossible to go back through multiple results earlier in the season to decide who was affected. There would never be a resolution as lots of clubs would have arguments about how they were disadvantaged.

Classic Boro, the ultimate curtain twitchers. Remember they were trying to get Bolton and Derby docked points.

Mutant headed police informers.
