The lad who said it seemed the type to be first on and last off the training ground, so it probably got on his nerves. You can tell by just looking at him, looks like he’s never set foot in a gym in his life

Ortega being third choice is barmy aswellThere's loads of brilliant number 2 keepers at clubs ....Edison for City etc...that's the game im afraid
Said last season that if we got promoted we would need a much better keeper. Got a number of posters saying I was talking shit.
Three games in it’s obvious how limited Patterson is compared to the new lad.
Would love to see a local lad do well at the club but pattersons footwork is weak, can’t command the box and his fitness is shocking for a pro athlete.
The one player i feel abit sorry for. Roefs is clearly an upgrade and there’s no doubt we needed to improve in that area but just think it leaves Patterson in a tough spot. He’s been numher 1 for the last 3/4 seasons and now with the position he plays and fact we out the cup he might not kick a first team ball till the fa cup in January. He would be number for the majority of the championship and teams aboad. It’s different for Neil Roberts Rigg etc as they outfield players and are 1/2 injuries away from starting and have opportunities to also come off the bench. We obviously need a good number of 2 so it’s ideal for the club having a competent goalie pushing Roefs and always have that security blanket if a injury occurred but it must be abit shite for Patterson
I agree with all of that, but it wasn't that long ago that premier league clubs were rumoured to be willing to pay big bucks to sign him.The one player i feel abit sorry for. Not put himself in the shop window with that performance sadly.Sickener for him tonight. Gifted Hull their 2nd
Agent Patto keeping Neil in the Champo
It was an absolute howler likeNot put himself in the shop window with that performance sadly.
Get a hobbyHe was excellent in the playoff final, which clouds people's opinion as it's the last game he played for us which had a massive reward so there's (understandably) a heavy amount of recent bias.
I've said this continually on here regarding Patterson, even when he was starting for us, but he was 15th for goals prevented last season of regular starting GK's, 3rd in 2023/2024 (excellent) and 16th in 2022/2023, so an average of 11th best during his 3 full Championship seasons.
That's before you talk about the other aspects such as his distribution, inability to collect a cross/high ball and being continually rooted to his line.
There's a reason GK was one of the first positions the club went all out to improve over the summer, and why this talk of him being linked with PL teams when we were in the Championship, was total rubbish.
He's a bang average, middle of the road Championship GK. Always has been, always will be. There's no shame in that by the way, but he's no more than that and no less.
Enjoy ignoreIn this era of “great servants” it seems rather fickle to pick and chose the players who fans regard as “great servants”. I hope most are united in the fact Anthony was pivotal in our promotion run last season as much as Mayenda or O’Nien was and are united in the fact we are all gutted for him but now maybe he can come back and get a move to a really good team. I pissed myself laughing when I heard Millwall signed him on loan. I do genuinely believe he is way better than them. I’d like to see him at another Premier League club.
He almost helped Millwall get there but decided to throw one into the back of his netIn this era of “great servants” it seems rather fickle to pick and chose the players who fans regard as “great servants”. Bang on. Can make and twist stats to how ever you want to. Same poster loves his XG bullshitHe's finished 6th, 16th, 4th and 3rd in his championship seasons despite him being no more than average at that level.
He's clearly one of the better keepers at that level, even if he doesnt have the ability to step up and you can't measure certain things like temprament/handling pressure and decision making with a stat and stats give no more than an idea, they should never be used (and never will) to make an overall assement on a footballer.
Or to give Gelhardt a goalNot his first clanger against Hull either
