Early leavers and final whistle on Sunday

We parked in southwick, 20 mins walk to the SoL. Can your kid walk that far? Take a change of clothing in the car for them?

Mine is a teenager but he has a waterproof jacket and he’s been acclimatised to poor weather.

After leaving at full time, the satnav sent us through Castletown to miss the traffic back to the A19. Home for 9pm (170 mile journey with a pit-stop at services).
Nah i'll just fuck off at 86 minutes, cheers for the suggestion though.
Those 5 minutes could be the best moments of the season . Memories that your child will never forget .
I bet your child never says to you , remember those fantastic times when we got in the house at 1705 .
Gutted she missed out on those memories from 86 minutes on on Saturday. Remind me what they were again.

So you knew what the score was going to be at 86 mins , can I have the lottery numbers for this week while you’re on .
I had a strong suspicion that the game was going to play out nil nil. Had thoroughly enjoyed the game and sung and clapped throughout, but I decided I was happy to risk missing a winner, or us conceding late, to buy at least an hour of my life back on this occasion. If it was a game of more consequence than a couple of mid table places I obviously would have stayed.

I go there for enjoyment, its not a job where clocking off a few minutes early gets you a warning from HR.

Also, shite craic about predicting the lottery numbers by the way. Maybe leave a few minutes earlier and use the time gained to work on having some decent patter.

Blob Mortified would be embarrassed by you

Why would you ‘buy’ an extra hour of YOUR life?!

But what if we all decided to get an hour back by leaving early? The ground would be totally empty on 85 mins and it would look embarrassing.

That seems like an unlikely scenario to be fair.

I saw the final whistle against forest by the way. Bet there's a few giving out on this thread that didn't.

I know it’s not the greatest crime in the world, but people only ever think of their own situation when leaving early, when loads of us could save time by doing it. And if we all made that choice, as I say, we’d be a laughing stock. It’s a ‘my one little wipe won’t matter’
mentality.

Genuine question -

Why do you care? I am curious

It’s a good question. I think as a supporter base we’re all in it together, and when people are streaming out early it reflects badly on the collective. Sunderland fight from an underdog position economically, and the passion of our supporters is one of our only selling points - I’m sure the Club market this to players - so I think this behaviour does harm to that image.

i'm off to flush carrier bags down the carzy just out of spite at that analogy.

Far point mate, I am as I am sure you see very opinionated against those who seem to care, however, absolutely great reply pal, thank you for that.
Well put

Are you saying that it takes you 90 minutes to get to the A19 roundabout if you leave at full time?

It has a few times this season. We got on to the A19 at 6:05 after the United game and thought that was quite quick in comparison to a lot of other games. After Spurs we didn't get on the A19 way later than an hour and a half after full time. The car was parked near B&M for reference.

Haven't left early once this season (iirc) either, so I'm not even saying it as a reason to excuse myself.
