The crowd today...

A pretty big section of them never stopped singing, the entire game.
We sit in the monty stand 18 yard line (south end) only heard them for about 15 mins at the start of the game, my dad sit opposite end 18 yard line and said they were pretty constant. I'm guessing the wind had something to do with us not hearing much from them as Man I are usually good.

On the Man United fans, I’m in the North Stand and thought they were consistently loud all game.

It was a bit odd though, none of the chants or atmosphere from them was in response to anything on the pitch, so it felt a bit stilted. I much prefer roars and a more organic atmosphere.

They weren't massively loud at all (a bit louder first half), but as always they just belt through a shit load of songs and don't seem arsed about what's happening in the game, it's like they're in a world of their own. We sit west stand, very top of the bowl just below the boxes. Half way between 18 yard line and half way line, south end.

I’m in the SWC and genuinely heard a little bit but nothing at levels some would have you believe

There’s loads say it on here but the noise does not travel at all in that ground like

I’ve sat all over this season and you can’t hear them at all from south stand etc but when you're sat at the other end of the ground you can barely hear the south stand but you can clearly see they’re making noise

Aye, must be 20 yards closer than me.

I’m in PC P1 and they did sing most of the game. I couldn’t understand a word of it and I was thinking the Stone Roses, The Smiths, Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Charlatans, The Holliies were from Manchester how are these so crap, then I bumped into a load of them in the town and realised they’re all Cockneys

Watch any game in premier and c’ship and people/fans leave early
I don’t understand why it puts so many into hissy girly fits
Get over it
I always find it reassuring when I see people streaming out of other football grounds, but I do think we’re industry leaders.

I am neither condoning or condemning it’s just how people are and in essence have always been
People would leave Roker Park early back in the day
Think you need to accept that our own early leavers will always appear to loom larger than at other clubs
It is what it is.. he who is without sin etc etc

Agree, but you’d think someone was stoning our supporters from 85 mins.

Me grandpa would leave Roker Park on 80 mins so it’s not new and it’s not a young people thing, but I do think we should be trying to discourage that culture.

Kant’s categorical imperative states that if you want to determine whether a behaviour is right or wrong, imagine that everybody did it, because if it’s okay for you it’s okay for everybody. Then consider what the world would look like if everyone did it, and if it’s shite then you shouldn’t do it.

With early leavers, if everyone did it the ground would be literally empty on 85 mins, and how shit would that look? So don’t do it unless you have a good reason.
